You were apart of our story Alana. I stumbled upon your page 4yrs ago.. with no intentions on homeschooling, my son was actually in pre-k. Fast forward 4yrs later, we have been homeschooling for 3yrs. My husband and I never considered homeschooling. Now I can’t imagine not doing it. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!!

As a widow with 6 kids under my roof when my husband died, I have learned to tune out others and hear the voice of the Lord. We have moved back to TN and life looks so different, but I want to only obey His voice and follow Him. Thats what we are called to do, obey God. Thank you for taking time to share. God bless
I've definitely appreciated your biblical perspective over the years. It's not all cookie cutter lifestyle, like "The transformed wife" preaches about none stop! Every woman is different and every family situation is different. (I'm a stay at home mama but that's not for everyone or every season)❤ So thank you!!
I remember when we were first believers a couple that claimed to be “seasoned believers” told us that they truly believed that believers who didn’t eat grass fed, organic this, organic that were being sinful. Because our bodies were temples of the Lord and it is our duty to make sure we were good stewards. I told the wife, because she was the foolish one saying that, it was silly for her to think that way. I told her, what about the family that cannot afford what you happen to be able to afford?? What a burden it was to be placing those views on a family that could only afford McDonald’s. It’s sad that there are so many believers with such distorted views. And it’s even worse when they can consider themselves wise or seasoned “therefore” above you and put words in God’s mouth.
Wow.. I totally agree. I think (in America) we've made being "Christian" too much into a cultural thing... I'm not sure exactly how to articulate what I'm trying to say but it's like we've created this check list (do they home school, does she work outside the home, do they let their kids watch tv, do they dress modestly enough, etc etc) and determining how Christian people are by how many boxes they check and then shaming them for not checking enough boxes and it's an awful thing to do to people.
Hi Alana! I came to your channel for your marriage videos. I absolutely loved them. I've stuck around because we share a love for Jesus. We live in a city and work an 8-5, dont grow/raise any of our own food, but i enjoy seeing your way of life. I find it interesting to see how other Christians live in other places. I'm single and in my late 20s. I've been made to feel so many times over the years that the only way to be a godly woman is to be a wife and mom. I've always wanted to be married and have a family, but it just hasn't happened for me yet sadly. And who knows, it may never will, it's not promised by God in His Word. But being made to feel that Biblical womanhood is solely about raising a family makes it 1000x harder, honestly, because it makes me feel like a failure and useless to God. But I've been really trying to focus on honoring God with my singleness (pursuing purity, finding contentment in God, using extra time to serve in church, etc.) I want to use my life wisely even though my life so far doesn't look like what I'd always assumed and hoped for. This video was very encouraging to me, a reminder that living a godly life isn't cookie-cutter, but it's about honoring God with your decisions. Thank you for the video ❤

Thankyou for this video! I've been so angry with God lately because of the "teachings" I've been listening to. If you don't do life the "right way" you'll loose your salvation or your marriage will fall apart. I was so terrified of messing up that I gave up, figured what's the point when I'll never be good enough! I'll never be that "perfect" Christian picture. You have given me the hope for my life that I needed again! ❤
We are all so uniquely wired. Isn't it wonderful that God made us all different? I have ADD, so for me, too much information and too many choices around food leads to overwhelm, overeating, and exhaustion. But, a trained chef might LOVE the opposite, with all the recipes, organic this 'n that, food from around the globe. One person's path to health is another's to mental illness. I never home schooled my kids. I just always needed a village to help raise them & had no family to help. Other moms have conviction around homeschooling. Some women feel dresses=modesty. I'm in a very cold part of Canada. I tried wearing dresses for a full year. It was a positive experience. However, I never felt more modest than in some "pants" that aren't tight. Part of modesty is not drawing attention to oneself. Well, in my country, wearing a dress to do your day-to-day tasks, from November-March is going to cause everyone to look at you and give you excess attention. I WAS the only one walking the dog in a dress in January! My daughters are both completing University degrees. I'm happy that they now get to choose for themselves whether to be homemakers, work part-time, full-time for a season, or have careers. All I pray is that they listen to Holy Spirit and glorify God in their choice and daily life. It all comes down to whether we are glorifying God, ourselves, or others. ♥️🇨🇦
I'm a calvinist and disagree on you in regards to soteriology. But have been watching you for years and have loved your homemaking and marriage videos. You're probably my favorite channel! So thankful for you!
I want to hear your personal testimony on " church hurt." It would not only assist me in my daily life, but so many of your loyalty subscribers who have been emotionally hurt in their congregation.
My biggest struggle watching your channel and others is because I catch myself being envious because so many things are truly my desire but because of circumstances just aren’t possible. But God is good and when I start feeling that way I go back to Him to refocus on what truly matters and then I come back here and can once again just enjoy watching and learning and listening to others 😊

Either way you can always do college courses online! So I mean I guess it would kind of be like homeschooling but you could also have your highschooler do college classes online and get some of their college done while they’re still in high school.
@@rodnajean9508 Yes, that is also and option. Conversely, some people forgo college altogether and learn a trade right after high school and enter the workforce.

A lot of my friends are just people I’ve met throughout the years in my town. Through homeschooling as well as my Juice Plus business, and friends of friends. Unfortunately, none of the friends I have for my old church are in my life and any longer, but the Lord provided new people. :-)
No…I haven’t ventured into raising animals for food yet. I don’t know if I ever will. I have eggs and a garden and I ferment and pickle as many veggies as I can. :-)
