It is interesting that Calvinist say that if Jesus died for the whole world, then why isn’t everyone saved and that offends them. But then they say that God elected not to save everyone as if that makes him more sovereign and loving

I love what you said here. I have a 17 yr old son,son to be 18 and he is desperate for a relationship and i see that's it's not for sound reasons. It's for filling his loneliness, having somebody to talk to and text. He has been rejected by every girl he has seeked after and while I hate to see him down, I thank God for the rejection. I have talked to him and explained to him that the rejection is actually God's blessing. I tell him that he's not ready for a relationship and all the responsibilities it brings,he's also not ready for the broken hearts he will encounter. I have told him that God is preparing him still and now is the time to focus on growing in the Lord, seeking Him more and becoming the man God intended him to be for his wife one day. By God's grace he is giving ear to what I've shared and he is reading and seeking 🙏. Parents are not supposed to affirm every whim our children have, but to guide and teach them through the gospel what God says 🙏🫶
I’m so glad you were willing to share your experience and story with us. I want to share your videos with my niece but timing will be important. My main concern is for my niece who loves the Lord but is really caught up in Lordship Salvation which is one of the main reasons I believe Calvinism can be very dangerous.

I think all of this is beautiful and commendable. I just wanted to pass along. That Jesus is the passover lamb and just as in when the Israelites had passover they were mystically united to the original passover so to is the Eucharist/Communion mystically connected to Jesus' passover. The apostolic church all worshiped with the eucharist at the center(oriential orthodox, eastern orthodox and catholic) in the 1500s many walked away from the eucharist as they did in John 6 :66) it's also the only new testament book with that chapter number and verse number that I'm aware of showing the significance.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts:) so do you think modern man has created the sacrements, including the Eucharist, which was simply the already in existence, Passover meal? All he tells his apostles is to remember him when they have the Passover meal. Do you think modern church has over spiritualized this simple tradition? There’s nothing wrong with practicing in the way the modern church does, but it definitely is not the only way and not a sin to do it differently. Do you agree? I think it’s so simple that even if we just had a meal every time we worshipped together that would be considered “remembering Jesus” as we eat. The bread and the wine is just what they had and not what we eat in our culture so we do it just as a tradition and as a convenience for large groups. I could be wrong though. Also, do you agree that he probably ate more than just bread and wine at the last supper? They were having the Passover meal. There’s a lot on the menu for the Passover meal. :) Also, why is there significance behind the chapter verses in the Bible to you? For me it seems they’re not mystical in any way since men added them later for easier navigation of the scriptures. Curious to hear your thoughts on my perspective. Thank you! :-)
@@AlanaL3 I think The passover was the prefigurement, the sign, the typology of what Our Lord intended for His covenant people after the resurrection. Many things in the OT are typological. In the OT it was the seed and in the NT it flowered. The Eucharist is also prefigured by the offering and worship of malkezadek(sp?) I think Sacrament is just a fancy word people gave to a spiritual reality, a special encounter of grace that God gives us while we are journeying through the post resurrection wilderness to our heavenly home I think modern man especially since the enlightenment has become less aware of spiritual reality. I think modern man weather believer or not functions in day to day life much like an atheist. We don't see with spiritual eyes anymore. God is thought of more as just a watchmaker who isn't involved intimately in every aspect of life. Christianity is Incarnate…the word became flesh. I think St Paul explains the reality of the Eucharist to the Corinthians, how this is not just a meal(although beautiful) this is heavenly mana that if you eat it unworthily you eat and drink death not life as it was intended . (1 Cor 11:27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and [f]blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks [g]in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the [h]Lord’s body. 30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many [i]sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world) I think sharing a meal in fellowship with family, friends and Our Lord is a moment of grace with Him... and God is so good that He will bless that. It isn't the same as the Eucharistic worship but He absolutely blesses people who are coming to Him with open arms. He just wants them to have the fullness of what He has to offer Last supper, I do believe because of the mission Jesus was on... there was an intensity of prayer and self-denial. He is entering the phase of war where He will soon be in His agony, the crucifixion of His heart, physically crucified within 24hrs. The next day He will defeat all sin, He will defeat death, conquer the dominion of satan over humanity and reopen the heavens. All this was on Jesus mind, as the God-man knowing all this. He was very sober minded, this was a serious time since although fully God he had to bear this in His humanity. There might have been other food before the earthly version of the lambs supper but at the time of the heavenly mana he said “do this” this is a command (not in a mean sense…just direct and not a suggestion) this was to show us how to worship Him in spirit and truth through His Eucharistic presence, being with us till the end of time. Our Lord graces us with this same unique presence today after all these years(even tough He comes in other ways as well) Another aside is Jesus wasn't seen, even though present on the walk to Emmaus. He wasn't made known until the breaking of the bread. (St Luke 24) The chapter and verse thing I find interesting because the enemys name means division and he's done that from the beginning and he's deprived half of the church from the grace of the Eucharist. In John 6 verse 66 Jesus would have had to say being just “wait guys, I only meant it was a symbol dont walk away” but they walked away and He let them without clearing up misunderstandings... It was around the 800 that the monks added chapters and verses to the Bible before that there was no separation inside each book it was just 1 continuous chapter. I imagine they had that in mind as a diabolical sorrow, since they chose those numbers to put there and only there in the NT.Just my 2 cents.. I hope this wasn't too rambling. I would lean to calvinistic beliefs to be honest but thats just how i read and interpret scripture myself such as Romans 9. But Its Jesus! Not calvin, not any one. Also, yes! So many calvinists seem to be cessationist and often proud and arrogant towards those who are not. It's so tragic 😭 I hate that people's theology becomes their God! I used to be critical and judgemental too of emotionalism and contrary beliefs, but thanks be to God He has moved me out of that ugly immaturity
Hi Alana ❤❤❤ Just wanted to say that I am a very visually afraid individual myself if that makes any sense lol I own guns so I'm not ever afraid of a human breaking into my house but at 30 yrs old I am still scared of monsters pretty much 😂 Like, the way things look in scary movies stick with me. Just scary looking creatures that don't even exist have me scared at night sometimes even to this day
This was very helpful for me 7 years later. I have been an RN now for about 14 months. I do a lot of overtime. Working 4 to 5 12 hour shifts a week. I have a 14 year old son and a long time live in boyfriend. I’m the only cook in the house. I have had such a hard time balancing trying to take care of myself and my family while working so much. I have basically let myself go. I’m 30 pounds overweight. But I know a lot of my issue is the all or nothing mindset you mentioned. I definitely have 20 minutes here and there and on some days I know I can even get an hour in. You mentioned using even just ten minutes and I really admire that. Taking any opportunity you have is better than nothing. I admire your mindset and will try to adopt it.

One thing that Calvinists say about Arminianism is that it's up to them if they want to be saved. All they have to do is make a decision as if the Holy Spirit isn't involved. The Arminians would not agree with that, I'm sure.
I so appreciate your witness for the Truth. I too considered Calvinism and started studying God's Word as to whether it's true. I actually thought that if I was under Calvinism how would I know if I'm saved. If God didn't want me saved and here I am thinking that I am saved only to believe that it was Satan who deceived me into thinking that I am saved, how would I know if I'm saved or not? I didn't have any peace in my soul and abandoned that Idea of Calvinism.
Oh, my word....... I cannot TY enough for addressing all the topics that you address. U took all the thoughts & feels right out of my heart & head on all of this.... and since the moment I first realized that JDV was/ is steeped in Calvinism.... I keep noticing that lots of folks whom were raised in "Christian like" cults tend to migrate towards some sort of "other" cult like groups. Ie: Atheism, Secularism, Leftism/ wokism...and or some man-made version of Christianity. PS: Alana L. have you noticed that there are now "Reformed" homeschool curricula on the market? The "new/ shiny" homeschool deal. I'm like..."Noooo... do you even know what you've purchased there?"
Dit you understand the penal atonement doctrine? We have broken God's law. God's justice demands that we bear the penalty for that transgression. Jesus took the punishment so that God is now just when he forgives us. Read Isaiah 53. The punishment that brings us peace was upon Him. Why don't you listen to the Bible, Paul said that a woman should not give spiritual teaching and that is exactly what you are doing.
Thank you for this discussion. I can relate with Lonnie's testimony - struggling with learning the facts about Calvinism. I was so confused and emotional. I just couldn't reconcile their beliefs to what I believed the Bible taught. Not long ago, we were in the process of attending a church membership class at a new church -- When we learned more of their views I asked if they were reformed. They said reformed with a little "r". We raised more questions and were told we just don't understand. We're so thankful we had some knowledge of Calvinism. We had no clue they were this way. Nothing at all on their website. But, we did start to question some things before we went to the membership class. We did love the worship time and the pastor was a good teacher. I do have family that attends there and it makes me sad not to be in church with them. We're still struggling looking for a good, sound, and reverent church.
I appreciate your videos so much! Food for thought, have you ever considered that our parents "made" us. We all use the terms "God made me this way" or "God created this person for this purpose"(which can take on an ugly Calvinistic meaning depending on how it's used). Realistically, it was our parents who made the choice to have us and we who decided to have our own children. This explanation makes much more sense for children born into terrible situations, with difficult illnesses, people who blame God for Him making them be born, ect. Of course we are in God's image, and Adam and Eve were directly created by God. To say that God creates each of us, not so sure. Just food for thought <3
That’s fantastic wording. Yes, I actually say all the time that people born into horrible situations were made by the means that God created for a human to come forth. Anybody can have sex with anybody and out of that act comes a human. But you’ve taken it to another level for me to think on. Very good thought. :-) Thanks for sharing!
