Same, at least where I live in the us. When I signed my adoption contract it said I had to get her desexed & she has to be an indoor only cat. Some places also require you to get them microchipped.

Same here in Sweden. Sadly, more rural people just keep having kittens while refusing to spay them because "Its not worth the money!" So, its better to have to feed a colony of cats then?

I live in the U.S. and all the animals I have adopted from the Oregon Humane society, cats and rabbits, have already been spayed or neutered thankfully. We also have to keep them inside which I would do anyway. The cats I found when I was young My parents immediately had spayed and always kept inside too. My 13 year old kitty I got as a kitten is also micro-chipped but she has never been outside, same with my 12 year old bunny.

In Sweden all outdoor cats has to be neutered! Tho people around her don’t always follow that rule. If you don’t wanna neuter your cat then keep it indoors

@Kat Murphy point is, unless you can guarantee a good home for the offspring, don't breed your pet. No matter how "mothering" your pet seems. Either you find them good homes or keep them yourself and be overrun.

injured crows make great pets, a little unusual, but great pets if they can no longer survive in the wild. check for licensing requirements

I think the crow is cuter than a human baby but not as cute as a kitten or puppy, or joey once it has some fur.

sometimes it is out of the people`s hands. My partners parents had a what we now presume wild-born cat come to them and when they went to have her spayed, she was already pregnant. We think she was just a year old.

Outdoor cats are harder to control. She should have been spayed around 6 months. Still a beautiful kitty. I'm sure they will have her fixed after this. Its better for thier overall health anyways.

I like the Shen twins better than the pelican twins as they don’t talk at the same time as each other but the pelican twins are so annoying

It is ok not to spay and neuter but make sure if u want them to have babies then make sure u do it at a right age and make sure they go to good homes if you are not going to keep them

all birds are drama queens, not just crows! but they're cute and smart as can be

It was a wild baby crow, not a domesticated pet, so it has no idea what the large human omnivore wanted to do with it, plus it was hungry, but didn't know if the human was hungry itself. It's normal it's going to call out and struggle to escape unless you hold them correctly and feed them so they calm down lol. You could see the rehabber calmed the bird instantly once she started feeding it. ✌

Hopefully she gets spayed once the kittens are weaned! Beautiful lil family though!

The cat is certainly beautiful, but the human parents are hopelessly irresponsible for not having their "Princess" spayed...... what are they planning to do with the kittens.??? And do they know that an intact queen can have 4/5 litters per year for the next 10/ 12 years???? I get the feeling that kittens are just toys to amuse their little girl...... I just hope people at the vet clinic talked some sense into them!!!

Yeah, reflexes being what they are it really seems irresponsible. But then, it a also didn't seem like that much of a shock to her, they're clearly used to him pranking them. But if it were my pet I really wouldn't appreciate seeing that kind of unnecessary (and unfunny, imho) risk being taken with him

@Unnamed too young to be spayed= too young to be pregnant. My three boys all come from a rescue and they were neutered young, one at 2.5 months old. The public vet the rescue uses will spay and neuter at 1kg, especially for TNR.

@@noface1547 letting your unspayed female cat go outside is irresponsible. Stop repeating that like it's an excuse. It's not accidental and it's not difficult to get your cat spayed before they go into heat. Australia, like the US, has programs for low cost neutering.

@Unnamed because they're not wild animals. They're invasive domesticated animals that were released in places they should not be. Letting them breed is irresponsible and leads to the destruction of natural habitats. Your cat likely would have had the issues it had regardless of being neutered.

I would advice you to report that vet and possible even sue them but hey that's my opinion on a vet doing a bloody half pie job.

Its always a great idea to seek a second, or even a third opinion if you don't like what the first one says. No vet knows everything & they all have had different experiences. Sometimes that can save a life.

Maybe because it causes severe issues to the animals that get desexed? atleast dogs get these issues but there has been no study on cats done that show they have the same side effects that dogs get.. the vets here in the usa are just now discovering what the vets in other countries have known for years.. that its not good to spay / neuter

The myth that desexing an animal is bad for them is exactly that, an old wives tale. 1.5 million domestic pets are euthanized yearly. The over population is staggering. Contrary to the old wives tale that spay/neutering is harmful to animals, spaying and neutering reduces their incidences of mammary cancer, eliminates their chances for uterine and ovarian cancer as well as fatal infections of the uterus. Neutering protects males from prosthetic hypertrophy and testicular cancer. It also helps to eliminate behavioral problems such as feline marking or spraying, roaming, and aggression in dogs which ultimately see them relinquished to shelters where they are either desexed and adopted or, sadly, euthanized.
