Not paid or sponsored just an honest run through a tool I really like!
The Klein tools scout pro 3 is brilliant for RJ11 (phone) RJ45 (data) and Coax testing. It can also do tone testing with the additional tone receiver available separately to this kit. Along with the test remotes!
This base kit does all of what we need and works up to 610m which is brilliant.

Mark, I’ve been using a similar tool by Greenlee. The NC-500 (NETcat Pro 2). I have found that you can calibrate the distance on a known length of Twin & CPC, and once proved “DEAD” you can get a very helpfull distance to break on a L,N,cpc. Saves a lot of time unscrewing multiple sockets.

Just curious, what would happen if you plugged in the coax coming from your ISP and tested it and then tested the length? Would it work? Would it disrupt service for other subscribers? I want to try it, but I'm scared. :D

How can I identify if my jr45 jacks in my new home are set to T568A or T568B. I took a picture of one of them, but I can't tell anything from the picture. I ask this because I may have to re-do all of them (about 8 or 10) and I don't know how much spare ethernet cable I will have inside the wall. If it is not much, I have to be very careful when I wire the cables with a new and better jr45. Thank you.

Both have the same pin outs just different colours in the cables so can only be visually identified. If you can’t do that you can’t do it. Seak the services of someone who can would be my best advice
