Hey, Mr Furnaceman! Just wanted to say we love your videos in my class. My instructor linked some of your videos on things like fuse and circuit breaker basics, and I find your clear and concise way of explaining these parts to be incredibly easy to digest. Thanks for everything and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
I hope your right goes even smoother than the left!!! I did some x-ray work in surgery back in the 90's and saw quite a few knee and hip replacements. Fascinating. Many of their tools just like we might use except in SS so they autoclave. The cement used to glue the parts into bone smells identical to that used on dental crowns. Bone chips fly everywhere. Surgeons often sing, dance, and tell jokes after you're out. Fun times.😁
Thanks for the update, I hope it all goes well ! I recently found out the surgeon I had for my left knee retired, so I'll be reading up on the online reviews I guess LOL My sister-in-law gets hers done in a couple weeks, so I'll see how she likes her sawbones.
Glad to hear. This is my seventh week after total knee replacement of my left knee. Still swollen quite a bit and has pain but I just cut the grass for the first time in 7 weeks with a push mower and it hurt by the time I got done sitting here on the deck with ice on my knee watching your video LOL. I'm going to be in the same predicament, my right knee is bone-on-bone I'm going to wait a while before I get it done cuz I still can get around pretty good. Keep up the good and God bless
All I can say is work the heck out of it, get that range of motion and ice it. It probably will get better. I can't stress enough, strength training, work it till it hurts, then ice it up. You will be ok if you just stay with the course. I will be doing the right knee soon. Not thrilled about the rehab, but I want more to have it working. All the best. GFM
Hello! I just found your channel today because of, you guessed it, I'm trying to save money that I don't have by working on my boiler. More on that later. My mother who is the same age as you just had her knee done last year. Fortunately, she didn't have any issues like you did, but I'm very glad to hear they got it right the second time. 😂😂 I'm a licensed master electrician with 37 years experience and I certainly can empathize with your knee issues. Our industries do not like knees. They torture them daily, and back when I was starting out, God forbid if you wore knee pads to a job site. I'll spare the audience the details of those incidents. Wishing you well with the other one coming up. New sub, so I will be watching out for news. While searching around your channel earlier, I couldn't help but notice how much work has been put into it. You have a search bar!! I don't think I've ever seen that before and it was great. All the playlists and categories. I learned quite a bit more about the system in my home that I should've known for years. That, or I should've paid someone who knows how to service it more often. THAT BEING SAID LOL... I haven't fixed it yet but I got it down to the nozzle, I believe - I hope - I pray. Now I have to wait for the supply house to open tomorrow morning to get a new one. I didn't see anything on your site that talked about cleaning them so I'm assuming the advise I saw somewhere before I found you - that said I could clean it, and, did not mention anything about not handling the filter - was wrong. Well I did more than just handle it, let's say. Thankfully it's not too cold just yet. I'm running electric heaters (YIKE$) that are ok for a few days but my system also works my hot water, so I need this done. I really wanted to tell you how great your channel is and how I appreciate you sharing your extensive knowledge with the world, and in a way that's very easy to navigate. Did I mention you have a search bar?? Best wishes on the knees and a pleasure to meet you.
Thanks for the support. I don't do as many as I used to but am still working. When I was teaching I would tell my students to not do what I did and as you did. We were just stupid. Going for the next one 11-2. Am trying to get a lot done before the down time. GFM
@@grayfurnaceman GREAT NEWS, Furnace Man!!! The new nozzle is working like gangbusters. I've never seen the flame so big and beautiful in the 10 years I've owned this place. I was convinced the oil pump was bad bc i wasn't getting oil into the box. Then I ran across your vid on how to flush the gun and unknowingly to me, that's a way to also test the pump. Once I saw oil flowing out, I put the nozzle back in and ran the flush again and low and behold - nothing. That's when I knew I had a clogged nozzle. I can't thank you enough for making this channel. Even though I wasted many hours and days working on it, once I found your channel, it was a matter of minutes before I found what was really going on. You saved me hundreds of dollars that I literally don't have. I'm on disability and every month my budget is short without any issues coming up. As I'm typing, I hear the beautiful sound of my water heating up. And when I have hot water, I'm going to turn the t-stat on and start to warm my home. You've inspired my to do the same with all the knowledge I have acquired over the decades in the field of electricity. There is so much that I will never know, but I could easily make lots of vids for DIYs and such. Sounds like a great way I could give back just a little of what the Lord has given me. Thank you so very much for what you've done and are doing. God bless you and your loved ones!! From the soon to be frozen Northeast.
Glad I could help. Oil burners need to be serviced every year with an oil filter and nozzle replacement. If you do start doing videos, let me know. We need all the good information we can get. GFM@@snakeinthegrass7443
I would look into a stem cell injection procedure! If you still have cartilage in that knee (as I understand ) you can regrow it. It’s a simple in office procedure, they extract fat, blood and bone marrow from you and inject it into the joint, which you can use after the procedure. I have two acquaintances that had this done, one seven years ago and the other five years ago, it has worked for both of them.
When you get one done, it puts increased pressure on the other during the rehabilitation. I had a reconstruction on the right and it stressed the left. A friend of mine got both done at the same time and he swore it was a bad move. Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't.
Good too hear you are satisfied with the current situation. I also have had knee replacement and one has been better than good and the other has been a challenge but 3 years out the nerve damage has almost disappeared. Sleeping at night is the biggest advantage after getting the replacement, reduction in consumption of pain pills NSIDS is a huge plus.
As my doctor tells the story, wait as long as possible for kness replacement. Hip problems are typical as knee surgeries tend to weaken the bone structure. Fractures above the knee are common after such surgical procedures. Hope you have no further problems
