I know that the Lakers are very strict when it comes to retiring jerseys… but Coop was an important piece for FIVE championships, he’s one of the greatest 6th men ever, one of the GOAT perimeter defenders, 8x all-defensive (like you’ve said), won DPOY, at some point was running the offense when Magic went to the bench to get some rest, could pass the ball, he hustled all out, high energy great athlete, could shoot and developed into a very good spot-up 3pt shooter (without coming up in 3pt era), made some great clutch plays time and time again, spent his entire career (12 years) on the Lakers…………
