Kobe Bryant, upset after the Lakers' close loss to the Heat, shoots by himself in the empty arena right after the game. He works on his three pointers as well as his free throws.
To be great you have to put the work in. Kobe lived by that code every day. So sad we won't get to see the unlimited great things he could do after his career. RIP, Kobe.

Hard work, dedication and going that extra mile is what makes Kobe different from other players. I'm proud to be a fan of Kobe, and I know that people will hate on him no matter what. The least you can do is acknowledge his amazing work ethic and dedication. .you can't deny those
Man I remember this like it was yesterday watching Lebron and Kobe battle💔 Glad I remember how much I admired this during this time and never took how great he was for granted 💯👑
I'm nowhere scratching Kobe's lowest surface but I also do these every time I lose a game that I knew I could have done better. Shooting after the game is kind of a therapy for me to move on from the loss.😅
It was an ESPN game, they were taking the video camera off of the top of the rim After Montrez intervened though, it made it seem like they were doing it on purpose. That’s what made Giannis mad, but they actually weren’t
Kobe's simply pumping up the volume, shooting more hoops to find the right strokes. PERFECT practice makes perfect. Kobe's still a student of the game of basketball. Go Kobe go!
Remember kobe had giannis practisi ng with him,he told him what he had to work on to become sucessful, giannis knows that his freethrows attempts are not good so he always work on his freethrows after games ,giannis got that discipli ne from kobe.
Man it takes guts to be like this. Normally after a game, players are tired hit the showers and bounce, but Kobe is different. This is why he is my favorite player. He puts so much work in, he deserves that 6th ring. Lets go Lakers 3peat Baby woohoo! Keep it up Kobe u da best!
The whole squad trash not one of em is dedicated only dedication they have is making sure the diva passes Kareems record other than that we won't be in the Finals for a couple of seasons
this is what makes this guy so great. he and his team has an extremely hard loss, but he still stays at the stadium putting up shots, now that is a work ethic that can't be beaten.
thats exactly true, but I would be playing everyday without hesitation if I knew I could comfortably shoot the ball all day without running after my rebound
take a look at the empty seats at 0:19 it must be a big relief/difference when u dont have ppl yelling and cheering and everything....it looks so calmed
@hemelekkoff Actually a lot of people care and winning isn't the only thing that matters. I'm a coach and I've seen players improve after losses. Seeing players with this dedication let's the fans know thats he's not taking the loss lightly or take the game for granted. Some people take it more serious than the athletes do. I don't understand why people are so quick to hate on others when they are minding their own business.
@2010raquan i wouldn't say its the passion, he wants to catch michael, but his mind is telling him that he can do it, but his body just wont respond and is telling him no you cant... this loss was one of the hardest ive seen because it represented the end of the dominance my favorite player who ive been watching since i was born basically and who has always been my favorite
@JoeKnowsSports Basketball IQ means reading the defense, adjusting to the defense. Same on defense. It means making THE RIGHT BASKETBALL DECISIONS. It's basically what a coach would have his players do if he was playing them like a video game. And that does not involve shot jacking, ball hogging, or just keep on shooting when you have an off-night (which Kobe tends to have a lot more than anybody hyped to these heights in NBA history)
@missfashionfoward def not "phony" its called dedication. If the whole world had kobe's work ethic the world would be in a much better place than it is now. And its the NBA cameras are always gonna be around
@jumbokevin he doesn't do it for the cameras, he does it for himself and his team. That's why he's Kobe. He probably can't sleep without knowing he could've fixed his jumper. I'm sure he'll be up early the next day regardless of when he sleeps. Lakers 2011
This is what champions do after a loss, not crying in the lockerroom. Kobe knows he might see the heat in june, and he will not let them beat the lakers. 3PEAT FTW
@jumbokevin I think it helps to practice right after the game, psychologically as well as technically (in terms of thinking how he missed some shots and what exactly he needs to fix)
Everyone is always going to critisize the man. Ok, maybe Derrick Rose is an up and coming MVP player, but you can't just follow the trend and down upon Kobe because he isn't the best anymore. He's fighting for his team, and should gain respect for that. Even if it was a publicity stunt, he's practicing. You can't get mad at him for wanting to be a better player. There's something about shooting in an empty stadium, especially a rival stadium. It gives you a feeling, a sense of memory.
Why don't you tell the media to just leaving Kobe alone then? Why don't you tell the media to not make it such a big deal. The media usually makes a small thing into a big thing and when it leaks out, haters hate. The fact is, he's been doing this since high school before the media was on him. Ask his high school coaches and teammates and you'll know he doesn't do this for attention, he does it to be better. He always tries to put in that extra work and that's why he is one of the best there is.
@BMWM5gpower23 but on a side note he got that finals mvp because he was the leader of that team and without him they wouldnt be there/win...he did average 28 pts 8 boards and 4 assists and he did shoot 8/9 from the line and grab 15 boards in game 7....but admittedly he pretty much won by default nobody else really deserved it more
@dancingbearfilms I'm pretty sure that Kobe didn't call a camera guy to come and film him shoot. They probably were just there after the game was over.
@caelean1 no he didnt call a reporter, they followed him, and its not his fault that the media hypes everything. the heat is probably the most hyped team in the nba
This just shows how focused he is. He wants to win a sixth championship and he knows the way that the team as well as he himself is playing is not good enough.
@magnetic480 he did face all the questions, this wasnt right after the game and this is kobes daily routine, but since the lakers had a flight in the morning, he did it at night, he probably didnt even know they were filming
Imagine if Kobe is not w/ the Lakers... Yeah, they can win games, but they can't win championship... Kobe brings mental toughness to this Laker team...
Also some jordan fans might call me out on the end of true D with rule changes. Rember, Kobe played in that era for a short time which actually created a mindset to score easier in this era of D. But the sad part is, Kobe cant eat stats because he's a 56 year old man at age 33. His body cant keep up with production. I think that the last time we saw the real kobe was after his "rolled" ankle in RD 1. So Kobe cant possibly be fake in any way at all, just putting it out there.
he is arguably the greatest player of all time and with them 5 rings he gots a big edge against what ever labron fan has to say. Like i told my friend Labron can score, he can pass and he can grab a few rebounds but can he win??? thats the question that leaves a lot of people that try to argue with me stunned. CAN HE WIN A CHAPMIONSHIP. without one of those you might as well chalk that GOAT caption up. the NBA wants you to like Lebron or atleast they did for the past 6 years cus he makes them $
@juffurey Can I get some stats on "as far as game winning shots, he is second only to jordan" please? Just curious... Oh while you're at it, can you get me the percentages also? Thank youuu
@NumriNente defense and space require a lot of energy... if you didn't know this man has been in the NBA for 15 grinding NBA seasons and has gone deep in the playoffs in many of them... hes 32 years old and his prime has come and gone... i dont see why so many people believe he's supposed to wear his body down... dirk is not a good defender nor nash etc....
Kobe never wastes time when he is shooting. He is laser focused, his movements always the same and he does not have alot of movement in his shot. You look at players in today's setting they have alot of movement and no consistency from shot after shot like Kobe has.
I don't really think anyone here can talk about how his team isn't going to win because of his shot selection. Obviously he takes the odd bad shot but since he's won 5 rings i'm pretty sure he knows what he needs to do to win
