Love young’s! Grew up on this place in Aiea. I remember when they were originally located across the street at the shopping center. The owner is so sweet! Remembers me from 25 years ago. Definitely a local gem!

Yes, the lady at Youngs knows the regulars by name, been going there for over 20 years. Also, you're correct, as a person that travels to Korea for business, they don't have Meat-Jun, it's a Hawaii thing. Continue to make your awesome videos you two, I'm discovering new places to try. Aloha!

Meat Juns are one of the food eaten only during holidays in Korea. Especially during Chu-seok which is korean version of thanksgiving day we used to make them and eat them together. Love y’all food travel videos!!

Thanks for sharing all of these food videos. we are actually heading into Hawaii in a few days after a three year COVID delay. We used to live on Oahu for 12 years while in the Military. We left in 97 and normally try to visit each year in May. Watching your videos we now feel ready to hit the streets and enjoy the local food. Already have reservations at 100 Sails and planing to visit OKims shortly after we arrive. Many more to try ….. thanks guys!

Ooh I love these stuffed cookies!!! I was just home for a few days and dropped by pearlridge! I saw the kiosk and had to buy a few! Sooo good, esp with coffee!! The lady said it keeps at room temp for a week but after that freeze it. Yumm gotta go back! Great job!!

Another great foodie adventure! Thanks for introducing us to meat jun; we will hunt for it in the Bay Area. Also, we appreciate your dedication and totally resonate with you on good lighting; I can imagine Felix driving around to find the best spot, rushing before the food gets cold or sun goes down. 😅 There are inexpensive ring lights (check Amazon) that you might want to consider, perhaps? Re. the cookies - is it crispy or have even the slightest crisp on the outside? Are you guys also into coffee? Would be lovely to see a video on dessert and coffee (or tea or other beverage) pairings around Oahu someday. Keep up the great work guys!

We just got home today from 12 nights at Aulani, and now we have to start a new list of places to eat for our next trip. We ate at the Korean BBQ food truck up on the north shore and we loved that.

Love it when you go to my home town, Aiea! Good to know where to pick up onolicious food on the way to seeing relatives and friends. We used to call meat jun Korean BBQ meat and my mom made it at home often. Only very recently learned it's called meat jun. So ono for Korean food and stuffed cookies.

@@AmandaFelixEats Now Aiea seems so close to town. There was a C&H sugar mill, there were no freeways or paved side walks, sugar cane trucks still drove through from the fields farther away and cane grew on the side of Moanalua Road going into town.

I always get their Bi Bim Bhap! THE BEST! FYI - I'm a local 4th Generation Korean. My Grandmother who was pure Korean made Meat Chon, Hamburger Chon, Chicken Chon and Healthy Full Fat Zucchini Chon! It was never Sweet. The Sweet came from the Cho Jang Sauce. Not to be confused with Ko Choo Jang. Amanda and Felix thanks for sharing!

This video dropped the day after we left so we didn't get to try it out =( Besides that, Amanda and Felix, thank you for all the wonderful videos and suggestions. When I visited last week, a local spot which had great food and even better prices was Stadium Giant Malts & Bar-B-Que in Salt Lake. You should really check them out! Also their chocolate malts were to die for! I know how you like to end your meals with a dessert. Mahalo!

Love your videos. My family and I will be visiting in July. Are more restaurants allowing indoor dining. It seems like all the plate lunch places you guys visited only allow to go orders. I

Yes, a lot of the plate lunch places are small mom and pop shops that don't have enough sq footage for 6 ft distancing😰 Definitely recommend that you call or check their website before trying to dine in!

I love kalbi and meat jun! When you guys come Hilo, you guys should go Osaka’s for Korean BBQ food! Or Anuenue’s Kitchen for some good Kalbi and burgers!! Btw, thank you for eating around the Kalbi bone. Lol, I can’t stand when people don’t eat all the meat around the bone!

Young’s kalbee in known for their meat jun you need to try Kim chee 7 they are a solid 4 star too on Yelp. Portions are huge and they are known for their kalbi… brah Felix stay pounding that plate! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Dong yang in Wahiawa. Has da bomb meat chun sauce. They see to have chicken bone marrow soup pre covid when they had dine in.

I miss meat jun so much. We have Korean restaurants here in KY so I can get Bibimbap and more traditional meals but I learned the hard way that meat jun is "Hawaiian-Korean"
