Thanks so much for posting. This was a big help. Korg’s manuals always keep things mysterious for some reason.

Getting mine today. I only wish I'd ordered it during lockdowns (as some did). Would've been a nice way to spend the hours and I would be fully up to speed with it by now.

This was the easiest tutorial I've seen yet, even tho this machine is simple, I had to learn about how to edit the sounds so I can make my own drums and this volca is really awesome because it just breaks down the drums into simple parameters and you pick and choose, I like volca drum because it's perfect for layering with my drums in my daw

This is my first Volca, as well as my first time (successfully) using a sequencer. Your video is the best tutorial I could find! The other ones assume you are already familiar with basic Volca sequence editing. Very clear and well-done, thanks!

Andy Thanks man. I tried to make it how I would like to see a tutorial. I see a lot of tutorials where they get caught in their playing. I’m just here to show the functions. How do you like the Volca drum so far?

Awesome video, ordered one of these today and the nubass unit to keep me occupied during lockdown. There are a lot of overly complex videos and this is the first I've seen that's made for regular people and not lightspeed thinking robots.

Bit late, but how did you find them both? I got the same two to start with and I sent the nubass back to exchange it for an FM cos I found it boring after just a day. Loving the drum though

I've got a volca drum and volca keys, love playing with them, but I feel like I'm missing one more volca to complete a trifecta of awesome. I'm torn between a volca bass and a volca samples.

Do the Volca fm, you love it and its got good bass sounds or ypu can input sounds from an actual Dx.I had the bass it's not that cool, I had the behringer 303 and it worth the extra few versus

Thank you boss for this vid. As a producer is there anyway to save and export to my daw? Logic. If not I could just record straight from the clock i suppose? I’m just wanting to know if when it’s time to mix and master could I tweak each song individually. Thank you again. Just subbed
@submarinemedia8316
@submarinemedia8316 4 года назад
pellis1981 I’ve never synced with the clock yet but I’ve tried routing it straight into my Scarlett 2i2. It tends to get noisey very easily if you increase the volume. What works for me is routing through the back of the speakers I use then into my interface. The I playback and sample the loops or sample each part individually. The short answer is yes. I’m hoping that helped.

Are you able to chain different programs into a bigger sequence?
@submarinemedia8316
@submarinemedia8316 4 года назад
I think it mentioned that but I’ve never done it. Let me check the instructions and get back to you.
@7an7ara
@7an7ara 4 года назад
If you have say a 32 step pattern in mind you can punch it 16 in one program and 16 in another, then hit Load Program and tap both of the patterns (say you've saved them in slots 1+2, tap both of them) and the Volca will chain both in a loop.
@michelemh6878
@michelemh6878 4 года назад
Bruce Campbell so for the 32 chain the steps will be: 1-load all the programs from 1 to 16 and save them in slot (step) 1. 2- reload them and save in slot 2 3- press load step 1+ step 2? Correct me if I'm wrong. I tried in this way but it doesn't work. If I press func+load prg and select the slots, it's impossible to press select func+ save prg even if I selected the steps to punch in one slot. I can chain different programs by pressing load prog + one or plus near steps.
@7an7ara
@7an7ara 4 года назад
@@michelemh6878 nah I just meant: write your program, if, for example it's 32 steps long, write and save the first half in slot one and write and save the second half in slot two. Then you can load them both and they will play one after the other to play a seamless 32 step beat. If you want to lay out a whole track you'll need to record breakdowns, bridges, drops etc in different slots and just load them up as needed. Theoretically you could write an entire track/song and just have it broken down into slots 1-16, but you'd be limited to one kit for the whole thing
