Top tip Gaz, use tin opener to cut round the bottom, then push on the bottom to slide it out the top, comes out perfect every time.

Ye I often just stab a hole in some cans to let some air in and and the food comes out far easier but removing the base for meats certainly helps.

My dad was Polish so often eat polish food and buy Polish food from the supermarket and Polish shop. Its nice that you reviewed this although it not something i would buy. Definately guys check out the international section at your local supermarket its often similar and cheaper to the mainstream stuff. Polish food is very much comfort food much like we have have here. The food is different but its has the same basis of being warming and comforting on cold winters days.

I absolutely LOVE this ham. ❤❤❤ It's the closest I have found to the tinned ham we used to buy back in the early 1970s. So tasty, and you can see it's real meat, not slurry all stuck together with jelling agents. Our family love most of the Polish meat products, very tasty and still reasonably priced.

As i am trying to loose weight , so that Whale watch Ireland stop trying to put a tag on me when i go Swimming in the Sea, I scoop out most of the soft white dough in the baguette , it makes more room for filling and reduces the amount of bread i eat. PEK Chopped Pork is much better and is fantastic dry-fried (no oil) till crisp. It has better texture and flavour than Krakus brand. Chill in fridge before opening, then it will be firm and easy to cut in the tin and won't fall apart ... no need to remove from tin as once you get one slice out the rest will be easy. Use one of those tin openers that cut around the edge of the tin then you can pop the lid back on when storing in the fridge.

I know this is a few months old, but this week, I'm having to order an asda shop for delivery as I've no car this week. I saw this in the World Food section. It's cheaped than pur equivalent ham and pork brands, I also saw horseradish and beetroot relish, I think that would be a very good addition to a baguette. My sister in law is Polish, and I've tasted that relish, and it's very good

This looks good, you expect jelly and feel cheated if its missing. So glad it has jelly... It was fought over!!! We always had a tin of 'good ham' in the cupboard for guests sandwiches or quick dinner with salad. This look s as if it might do chopped up and tossed through salad stuff to make a tasty dish. I always hope that someone would bring back tinned chicken... Yup a whole chicken and jelly in a Tin about 1200g now. It disappeared off the market just like the fabulous tin of roast beef slices... Ooh glory days of childhood... Will give this tin a taste. Thank you for doing all the hard work.

I'd forgotten, but years ago I worked a summer job at Harris's pork pie factory in Ipswich, and I remember the 'Pork cheese' made from the head. Its a bit like that forkfull of jelly you tried at the start. Mmmmm. Theres another memory it brought back: I wandered around the site one day , and I heard this regular thud coming from a some ducting into a 'skip' on the loading bay. When I looked, the thuds were boiled clean pigs skulls coming off a conveyer dropping into the skip! They werent for waste, they went to another bit of the factory where rollers went round in a big circular enclosure turning them into bone meal for fertiliser.

Krakus is one of the tastiest tinned pork products on the market. I have eaten it just like Gareth did, on a baguette, on a crusty bread roll, on sourdough toast. It's delicious. Polish shops always have a number of foods that we never see in British supermarkets, although Tesco has been selling Krakus and other Polish products for several years. I love the jelly, too. Pork pies often don't have any jelly, maybe because butchers think it's unhealthy. But most European countries don't fuss so much about food, and their populations live long and enjoyable lives. Also, Polish grocers don't have fancy prices, because they mainly serve young guys on minimum wage on the farms and food factories.
