He reacted like that because he’s a sound design guy, he really appreciates deep rumbles and cool sounds, which all the more helps with his fascination for scale in games, like bloodborne and shadow of the colossus, which are some of his favorite games, use both of these aspects effectively
They fucking nailed the noise that Gjallarhorn is supposed to make. I’m also pretty sure this is one of the only if not the only time the actual main theme track plays in both Norse games, and they chose the perfect moment to do it. Edit: Since some people don’t get what I mean by “it sounds perfect,” it matches what the idea of Gjallarhorn is meant to be. It’s a horn that can sound through all nine realms. Now in game context, you can’t actually make it that loud. It would destroy speakers, so instead, make it sound powerful enough to reach through the 9 realms. They chose the perfect amount of bass to create that feeling.

imagine being a dwarf in svartalfheim just doing your daily chores and hearing THAT. Whoever did Gjallarhorn's sound, they perfected it. It's menacing and grandiose, as should be the tone of a sound that signifies the unified effort to bring down an entire realm

I love how Jack embraces the story and gets invested in the atmosphere of the situation so easily. Watching other people play this game and having no reaction or missing the point completely was really starting to get on my nerves
Because a lot of the other people only playing it for views and don’t care about the story just like with elden ring a lot of RU-vidrs only play it because they heard souls games are difficult and wanted views from people laughing at them raging if you ask them the plot of this game or that game a lot of them wouldn’t be able to answer
This is why I only like watching him, I don't like watching others play the game. I'm not wanting to trash them, they play how they want to play the game, which is fine. However, when Jack plays the game, I love how invested he gets into them, it's one of the many reasons why I would like to do gameplays such as these. I don't care about statistics, however, a game that has rich storytelling, in depth characters, the music that makes me more invested, sounds, design, just everything involved.
@@rektmoon538 not only that, but he also cares about the characters and the story itself. Sure he may take longer to play but that's what I love, he takes his time and goes through through the game and explores everything.

A part of me wishes they had Atreus go back to Ironwood or something to warn Angrboda or something (tie her helping them in Ragnarok more) and then he hears Kratod blowing Gjallarhorn and how it reverbs across the Realms. But with the one shot camera and need to follow either Kratos or Atreus, it wouldn't be possible to show that. The shot of all the realm doors opening is epic though.
I love the way Freya looks at Kratos after he blows gjallahorn when the camera pans back to the Asgard realm gate, it’s like she has seen an ACTUAL god for the first time, or at the very least what a god should be. The look of awe mixed with determination, pride, and anticipation.
Gjallarhorn is old norse. It is still pronounced the same way as many west-Norwegian dialects. It can be explained as "intense-echoing"-horn. (Lost in translation moment🤔) (i know this because i'm west-Norwegian myself)
It doesn't matter if I'm watching this for the first time or the 70th...this scene *always* gives me the chill. The majestic sounding Gjallarhorn, with the main theme playing as the realms unite in centuries...just so good.
1) I appreciate that Jack appreciates the music and how that impacts the moment and 2) the gjallarhorn sound is so, so, so satisfying! it gives me chills hearing it! I wish I could get that particular gjallarhorn sound as an alert tone on my phone
I love the no cut camera they use, but holy shit just imagine they showing all the realm towers when the horn ecoes trough them, and the armies rush forward to Asgard. I was so ready to go to war for Kratos in this moment.
Just finished GOWR today. When Kratos blows the Gjallahorn and the soundtrack gets louder gave me one of the best game experiences i've had... Literally perfect.
Bro the soundtrack in this game is beautiful and the way the main theme is used here just emphasizes that even more. I cried when I got to the scene because it was just perfect
ofall the reaction i've seen to this scene jack has been the most wholesome, others are jsut stoneface or hardly react while jack is gushing over the soundtrack, the sound effects,the whole atmosphere
God, I get such goosebumps every time I rewatch this scene and the score swells as Kratos steps forward to blow the horn. It's just SUCH a "LET'S GO" moment. Best story presentation I've seen in a video game in years.
Over the years this man has become one of my favourites when it comes to story games. He is one who willing to express feelings. Sean, you have my respect.

By far the most epic, most powerful moment in the game! Everything is perfect! The music, the sound Gjallerhorn makes, all the gates opening, all our heroes together and ready for action. I get goosebumps every time I watch this scene!
The Gjallarhorn's sound is one of the most satisfying and epic sounds i've heard in years. I made the exact same face that jack made when i heard it for the first time.
Man, after all this time, I still got tears watching this scene. They so fucking nailed it and it's a powerful moment. We work so hard in those 2 games to get to that exact moment. 10/10
Even when i saw this scene more than 100 times, the goosebumps are everytime equally intense as for the first time. + 0:39 those tears of happiness cannot be held back.
Everyone has that one game they wish they could experience for the first time again: this is mine. For a multitude of reasons but this scene alone....man. Chills everytime.
I did my latest playthrough at my like home cinema (literal Swedish translation idk if there is a word for it in English) and I was SO HYPED for this moment! And then it came, and so did I. I set my speakers and subwoofer to the highest volume possible without the setup vaporizing or ensuring the noise complaint of a lifetime. It felt like I had the Gjallarhorn inches from my chest and the air literally trembled. Safe to say, it set the tone for the Twilight of the Gods.
