KRATOS destroyed Greece Faye destroyed this place both out of rage. I can see why they were both tired of fighting.

“This feels familiar” Thor was too drunk during his fight with Faye to remember the axe that almost pushed him. But the frozen lightning bolt seemed to have jogged his memory a bit. When he first spoke that line I thought he might have been referencing Ragnorak seeing as how the whole thing is supposed to be a cycle of sorts but Kratos was never there so why would he have said that. Now we know he was referencing Faye, I would have loved to have seen her in combat seeing as how she was the original owner of the axe.

Kratos is seeing what his anger was like from an outside perspective with stories of Faye

So it was this fight that was the source of Faye's whole "we are not our mistakes, we must be better" schtick. Her rage filled clash with Thor caused a great deal of destruction and killed many innocent people.

I see why Faye loved Kratos. The two shared an unbearable curse. The sins of their past had connected them, Destiny bound them. And their Son was what gave them both hope and fear. But from what we saw, Faye knew the future, and it’s more than likely she had found a future worth saving.

I don't wanna imagine how strong Atreus will be when he grows up to become an adult. If it's true that Faye and Thor were equal, and adding Kratos' own strength to the mix, Atreus may very well be the next norse god of strength. well, at least in the future, our boy still can't break chests with his bare fists.

Hearing that Faye was on Thor's level of power is truly frightening to think about.

Faye must be crazy strong to survive both Kratos and Thor like that. Too bad we dont see her fight in a flashback.

It's oddly fitting that he gains a spear in this part of the game. The Spartans were known for their shield and spear fighting. Like you can tell that Kratos is finally starting to become whole.

I wish they’d return to the Faye prequel idea that Cory brought up when the 2018 game came out. I’d be so down to see her story. Even a dlc where Kratos learns more about her past and you get to play her in flash backs would be dope

I love that you get a twinge of regret in Kratos when he says "there is much I did not know about her and now she is gone." You get the sense that Kratos may not regret his closed off nature but now that he's opened up more he realizes what could have been had he been more open to his new life

If Faye was equal to Thor in a fight, can you just IMAGINE how crazy broken atreus is gonna be because he is the son of Faye and kratos, when he fully develops his God-hood our Boy is gonna be unstoppable 😳

I like how both Mimir and Kratos have a side quest where they learn about their significant other. Mimir learns of why Sigrun joined the Valkyries and Kratos learns that Faye fought Thor in Vanaheim.

So that is why Thor commented " This seems familiar " while fighting Kratos with their weapons meeting head on creating that frozen lightning .

Weird, I remember Mimir telling us that Thor was frustrated he could never fight Laufey because she always eluded him.

Even though thor was drunk and faye was in a rage when fighting him it's still impressive she was able to even give thor a fight at all and hold her own. There's some really good potential with atreus. It would be cool if there will be a dlc of faye's fight with thor.

I did this part of Vanaheim while Atreus was still with me and man, he was excited to hear that Faye had the upperhand against Thor

If you think about it we shouldn’t be suprised she was on Thor’s power level. When she and Kratos first met they fought and he’d just destroyed an entrée pantheon and still there battle ended in a stalemate.

Damn! Kratos knows how to pick em! Girl went toe-to-toe with the god of thunder, a dude who sent jorm into a time loop and killed giants the size of mount Olympus. Wish I could’ve seen it.

Kratos now understands what loki was talking about when he said that they kept secrets and kratos didn't want to believe it.

I love how soft kratos was with the father's ghost, even when finishing the quest he asked if he could help them by telling them more

To know that Faye put Thor in his place was refreshing, Atreus better turn out amazing when he grows up. He needs a sword not just a bow.

Faye could see the light in Kratos because she'd seen the darkness in herself

Imagine if Magni and Modi ran into Faye after the garbage they were saying to Atreus. She would slaughter them

So thats how Faye actually survived against Kratos when they first met. Faye fought both Thor and Kratos in 1v1 Best woman on earth Kratos is lucky

I wished we got to play through Faye's story. Imagine having a crazy fight with Thor, & Kratos.

People need to remember that Faye fought a drunk and sloppy Thor and fought a non serious Kratos doesn't mean that she defeated Kratos or Thor; but it is still impressive that she was able to match their strength despite not fighting her with their full power

What I think that happened is Faye saw that kratos would die from Thor so she proceeded to destroy their mural out of anger going against her people just like angrboda said she did at the end of the game, out of anger Faye sought out Thor to kill him and change kratos’ fate. Maybe this fight caused her to get sick which is when she knew she was going to die in the future which is why she started getting kratos and atreus ready for her death.

Maybe Faye was enraged at the prophecy, since I think it's implied Thor is the one killing Kratos... Who knows.

Faye both fought Kratos and Thor and didnt die. Thats seriously impressive

Faye’s rage was a match for Thor’s drunken stupor, but she could not overcome it. However, it IS still a testament to her strength and fighting skill, being able to match the God of Thunder even at his lowest point. I am however disappointed that we never got to see her fight in a flashback… kind of a cop out imo.

So Faye fought Thor to a near standstill, no wonder she was Krato’s wife.

These stories sound like Faye was baiting Thor into drinking at the mead hall, and using this opportunity to confront him in battle. Using her rage to empower her while the God of Thunder was off his rhythm.

Kratos sounds like a jealous husband that is mad to hear that his wife had an epic battle with Thor. He almost feels like she cheated on him by fighting Thor instead of him.

So i assume, Kratos and Faye's power are equal. when they first met they fought and almost killed each other, but then they softened and start a new family. Faye was once like young Kratos, full of anger, even to the point she almost killed Thor in the fight. Thor would've much trouble defeating Kratos if he is full of anger just like his younger days.

Don't you guys remember what Baldur said in God Of War (2018) ? Baldur visited Kratos house. Odin sent him to deal with the Giant. He didn't know it was a female. He thought Kratos was the giant and said " I thought you'd be bigger but you're definitely the one " . He thinks this is the giant he was sent to fight. Later during fight Baldur says, " I'm not my brother ". Referring to the fight between Faye and Thor. Baldur is clearly talking about the other fight where Faye defeated Thor and during fight the Frozen Lighting was created. This is why Baldur was sent instead of Thor. Because he can't feel and can't be defeated. If it wasn't Kratos and was Faye, she must've died that day. Because she doesn't have any curse in her, like Kratos does and he is a God. Faye was also a angry and Raged person like Kratos

Bro the story of Faye vs Thor is so cool, not to mention the fact that she was strong enough to fight Kratos for a while and hold her own. A game based on Faye’s early life and later life where you see her battle with Thor and later with Kratos would be so cool

Imagine being in Kratos shoes where yes you knew that your wife had rage but after she is gone you learn that her rage was to that extent where it was matched by Thor himself I cant even imagine how Kratos felt after learning about this from the spirits, like when he first heard the few he was in denial that Faye couldn't have possibly been in a brawl with Thor and later on when more spirits confirmed it was, it slowly made sense to him and he learned that Faye kept another secret from him sure she had her reasons but damn also it is pretty scary to think that Faye was remotely on the same level with Thor when she is angry all in all Faye was a badass

i was under the impression that the yggdrasil was breaking apart like it was stated for the fight between thor and jormugandr. but turns out the meaning was deeper then that.

Faye was so strong and skilled that i am confident the only reason her uprising failed where Kratos suceeded was because, unlike Kratos, she wasn't willing to let the rest of the world burn for her revenge

This is probably on purpose, but let's see it like this; the stories of faye being a badass and doing all these amazing feets is Kratos story. Going to war with the gods filled with rage, makes sense why they both gravitated to each other.

Man... I really hope when Kratos clashes with Thor..., I think they'll do some major damage,... Like this faye story or mimir story about someone's fight... and the effects they have on their fight. . but it doesn't seem to cause much damage, just like when they fought Odin.. could it be because they were fighting in the ruins of Asgard..

One detail I like about this sequence is that the souls of the people killed by Mjolnir have sparks around them while those killed by Faye's axe are surrounded by a wintery wind.

In hindsight, it makes sense that Faye and Kratos got along so well

Maaan I wanna see when Kratos met Faye....that fight had to be bonkers for it to end in a stalemate. WE NEED TO SEE THAT!!!! I was hoping for a flashback visual or something like that in ragnarok....hell, I would've settled for seeing this fight between Faye and Thor. especially when the npc's described how viscious and unrelenting she was fighting. We're getting cheated out of seeing crucial moments here.

So Fay was basically the Norse counterpart of Kratos. Kinda reminds me of the GoW 3 alternate ending where he teams up with his Egyptian and Norse counterparts.

I would love!! If they create a DLC we're we get to play through as Faye, and everything that led to her Battle with Thor. That would be amazing to see Kratos Wife in Battle. The fact the she was Raging with every swing against Thor. Another way this let's us know it was Faye. Was when Kratos fought against Thor. When the Levithan Axe and Mjonïr clashed against eachother. Thor said "This feels Familiar." And Kratos said "What!" But then Thor said "Doesn't Matter." Even though he was drunk, he still must have remembered that Battle with Faye. More than likely Thor had to have sobered up too since Faye was kicking his ass and giving him a run for his money.

This only adds to my hypothesis that KRATOS was stronger than THOR if FAYE was close to the level of THOR (remember it was stated here that THOR was drunk) while FAYE fought with anger if KRATOS would lose himself with rage into battle like he did in his past THOR wouldn't stand a chance against him no wonder KRATOS has rage of Sparta skill that only activates doing battle then he becomes invincible almost unstoppable. 🧐🤔
