Thanks so much for doing this. Found Krown/Stoney Creek (word-of-month) and I am sold for life. Wish I'd know about Krown when the car was new. The Krown technician at my location, suggested that the optimum time to have the process done, is in high summer. This year, it will not be October when I return for my annual service. Awesome awesome Customer Care/treatment at their Stoney Creek store.
The guy in the end of this video is Chuck Campbell, he managed the Krown location in Guelph for close to 10 years. Really great guy to deal with he knows his stuff. The other place made a huge mistake losing him. Everybody goes to this shop in Waterloo now. This video proves the level of service he provides.
I just did in rexdale thos guys don't wash my truck and probably only spend 20 minutes there I definitely not recommended that location this guy's in the video know how to do this !!
Wow much better than what other krown place did to my car in Mississauga. Mine was in and out in 20 minutes but watching this video afterwards makes me think no two Krown applications are same. It all depends on the shop. I don’t mind driving to this place for quality application. Mine was total waste of money when I compare to this shop. Thanks for posting.
Go to Krown Rexdale, just had mine done there, guy has been doing it 25 years and drenched my car in it, it poured out of the bottom of the doors and the bottom of the car has been dripping for a week. Very good job
Not the easiest job by any means, but unfortunately these guys are lucky if they make a few dollars more than minimum wage. At least in ontario canada anyways...
I might decline the car wash. Would rather just clean the windows and come back in a week to wash. Veery thorough job. Im afraid the wash is compromise the oil spray.
My wife had the Krown rustproofing done to her 2004 Matrix when she bought it brand new. She is still driving it today with 330k on it. There is no trace of rust under the car, doors and hood. But we do have discovered some rust on the roof at the windshield. This seems to be a common problem, not with Krown, but with Toyota six sigma-ing paint savings. She is about to let the car go as it now started to consume more and more engine oil. Other than that, this car and the Krown rustproofing have lived up to their promises.
Price is dependent of the type/size of car you have, e.g., sedan, small SUV, large SUV/Truck. The holes drilled are plugged with a small round black rubber plug. The holes are carefully made in a nonintrusive manner in areas where wires will not be vulnerable. Wires are safe. Personally, my car works fine with no issues.
I was charged $140 before tax for my 2017 Chevy express 3500 Lt extended passenger van. Don’t get much bigger of a vehicle to spray than that. Side note I had the krown rust protection done by a shop in upstate New york
14:11 why these technician have to drill holes, when the company has already give predrilled holes with caps. The big black plug is a company drilled hole to insert the oil spray gun, just above the small hole where this dude is trying to fit the small plug.
Those big holes from the factory aren’t as good as the ones Krown puts in. Chuck the man in the last half of this video showed me on my Corolla as well as my Taxi Cabs just how much of the car you cannot get to without installing “application ports” as he calls them.
An application port is only installed when absolutely necessary. Unfortunately the manufacturer plugs only give you access to a very small bolt in the case of this particular vehicle
@@Antonioforest Drilling holes sucks. But, it'll bother you more and wreck the Beamer when rust starts rotting your doors and body panels from the inside out. It's like - Pick Your Poison
So many chemicals in the air at this facility. I hope you were wearing a mask while filming. I know that Krown is excellent, but how safe is it to be breathing in all those chemicals that linger within your car?
You are right that exposure to the oil spray, especially breathing it, could be harmful. I was wearing a white breathing mask. The mist in the air is mostly oil. The oil may drip for a few days from the car, but it is perfectly safe to drive the car. The smell does not linger for too long within the car.
You cant see it in this video but this shop has an air circulator that gets the stuff out of the air. It hangs from the ceiling in front of the lifting ramps or hoists.
They got a free ad and so they gave you a special treatment....that is worth $1,000 USD....now you can get 1 million miles instead of 500,000 miles out of that fancy Toyota...
All wash equipment is kept extraordinarily clean in the shop and if you pay close attention the brushes used on the body never touch the bottom few inches of the car.
@@krownwaterloo8021 its a thick bristles brush you moron. Yohre suppose to use microfiber that guy knows nothing about detailing. He left so many scuffs scratches and swirls. Never even rinsed of the brush to reapply it on the paint
This contradicts what I just watched on the Krown site video about how they wash car prior to remove all Grime and road salt to apply protection to clean surface . They are NOT doing this here. Just sealing in the dirt . Not impressed #Krown
My shop is two doors down from a Krown location. The pumps they use are a 10 to 1 ratio which means that at 100 lbs of air pressure the chemical pressure comes out at 10 times that. Heated chemical coming out at 1000 pounds per square inch is the same as a pressure washer. The pressure moves dirt and dust out of the way, it doesnt go on top. If a truck or car is really dirty underneath then they wash them but not every one. Their corporate better correct the videos as to not mislead people.
You do know that if you wash it prior, its not only harder for oil to bond with the car but it will also trap moisture inside so it rusts faster right?
@@Mo.Jo. “Marketed". I'm not trying to start an argument as I have learned over time that products like krown are oil based and it doesn't trap in moisture like tar/rubber based undercoatings. So I actually agree with you now. But those shops like krown are open all year round, they need the business on rainy days and in winter as well, it is hard to believe everything they claim about their products. I would still get it done on a sunny day, that's just me.
Actually Captain Krown utilizes an Irwin 3/8” Unibit Cutter. This tool is engineered to guide the metal fragments outward. Watch carefully you can see the fragments falling or being carefully removed, not going into the cavities. You may be confused with other places that use metal drill bits or hole saws.
Hey it’s chuck Campbells son here and after he is done drilling he will plug the holes with rubber plugs. So do be assuming stuff right off the bat. Get your facts straight my dad is the best rust proffer out there. But sadly he has moved on to a other business at troys toys. Thank you
They spray that stuff everywhere. I'd rather have my car rust out than deal with all that oil mess. Anything older than 8 years it's not worth it. Just buy a newer car when your old car rusts out.
