KT Tape Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Wrist Application 

I am 37 weeks pregnant and began to develop carpal tunnel at 36 weeks. I was so miserable from the pain, tingling, and numbness that originally happened only at night but started to occur during the day as well. I had to sleep sitting up to manage the swelling in my arms and hands, but it only helped so much. I tried ice, massage, splints, stretching, Tylenol pm and chiropractic care for the pain but nothing was helping. I found this video and within the first night I noticed a significant difference. My hands still go numb but not near to the extent. The biggest improvement I’ve noticed was no more shooting pain from my wrist to my elbow. I am so glad I found this video and am able to get sleep and relief!!

Why does the first piece not get applied with any stretch? It seems to defeat the purpose of it being a kinesthetic support, no? Im not an expert but it just seems like the support of the tape comes from the stretch. What good does it do if it’s just stuck to the hand?

Shouldn't the second piece extend over the thenar and hypothenar muscles? The TCL connects these two muscle groups, and is the roof of the carpal tunnel.

but what is the point of the first tape if it has zero stretch anywhere??? Maybe I heard wrong, I'll watch again.

Does it work for HMS wrist pain also (HMS stands for Hypermobility Syndrome) Your joints are to stretchy and very painfull most at the time.

I've only got the numbness and tingling in my index finger. :/ How do I apply it for that?

My sister has recommended I try this, she told me to look up videos on how to apply to wrist. Only problem is there aren't any videos for the wrist injury I have? So how am I supposed to know how to?

So disappointed in the lack of information and reasoning why this method is done. Seems redundant and waste of time. Theres no solid evidence KT tape works for carpal tunnel and showing just a how-to application to the wrist doesnt say much about anything. Website has nothing to offer as well.
