I purchased a 1880 last year and love it. I had the rear tires filled and that has helped a lot with traction and lifting heavy loads with the bucket. The only negative I have with the tractor is the ground clearance of the front axles right next to the front wheels. This is a big problem when working in the woods. It seams like the geometry of the front axle could have been done much better.
I sure hope this guy has a skidplate under his protecting the underside. I am supposed to get my new bx1880 sometime this coming week. Have you had any issues at all? I've heard dealer points not putting enough hydraulic oil in them , especially the front axles and also heard of a recall of the quick connect for hoses that affects most bx's. I hope mine has 0 problems. We'll see.
I also have a 2021 kubota 1880 about 100 hours on it sometimes going between high and low range and 4 wheel drive takes a little bit but once you get used to it no problem I am mostly using it for trail building and cutting fire wood I have used the loader a lot very happy with the tractor so far
Have 62 hours on mine that was delivered in June 0f '19. Anyone interested should watch Tractor Time With Tim and the wonderful comparison he did with the BX vs the JD Series 1. He did a very unbiased comparison with every different part of the machines. I have the BX1880 with the loader 54" mid mount mower and a box blade. 1 thing I will mention in the comparison that is surprising is that the larger tractor JD, had a tremendous advantage in the turning radius when mowing! My quick attach 4 point hydraulic connector which seems very impressive, leaked every other time it is attached. The dealer did pick it up and supposedly repaired it last fall. I have had it off and on only 2 times since with no leaks so far so, next year will tell. If JD could have matched the tremendous financing Kubota has....I may have made a different decision.. Nice video, TY
Well Bob my dealer delivered my 2020 BX 1880 yesterday Nov 4, 2020 and I opted for only the loader which can do everything I need on my 2 plus acre property. I had requested the R4 tires but they put the turf tires on it by mistake but will correct that problem this week. I have wheel weights and rear chains for my slippery drive here in northern Michigan. I will not be getting a snow blower as I have a blower already mounted on another 25 horse garden tractor. That 25 HP throws the snow into the next county. It's been a year since this video was made so I imagine you really enjoy it now.
Looking at the BX1880 now. I recently built a log home and now I have a lot of landscaping projects to get done. I had a landscaping company give me an estimate to spread top soil and seed our lot.. and do some mulch beds etc and he was at $15k. For that price it makes more sense to buy the tractor and do it myself in my own time.
I did a lot of landscaping with the 1880. I also owned a Deere 2320…. If you plan on starting from scratch I think you’d be better off with a Kubota B or Deere 2000 series. You can’t beat the extra weight. Speaking of, the L2501 and Deere 3025e would be the ultimate landscapers tractor but, neither has a provision for a mower. Good luck with everything!
@@BobWilson84 I'll definitely wanna use it for mowing in the future. I think the 1880 is probably plenty enough tractor for what I need to get done. Especially since it'll just be maintenance after the initial work is completed. But before I make my decision I'm gonna talk to my dealer about whether I should look into the 2380. Not sure I'll need the extra HP... but I wanna feel good that I was thorough in my research.
@@randomstuffwithjoe Cool, no matter what you decide it'll be fun! I think the 1880 had plenty of power for what I used it for, just loader work and snow pushing. Mowing could benefit with the extra HP for certain. Also, the larger wheels and tires on the bigger BX make it a touch more stable
Hi, many thanks for the video and tips! I am considering a BX1880 instead of my Bobcat S70? The Bobcat I feel is just too much machine for me as well as being cramped inside? There are ony 46 hours on it and it is a 2012. I only use it for snow clearing and think I would rather have the convenience of the steering wheel, instead of the handles. I also noticed in your video that your Kabota did NOT have the amber front/rear flashers and turn signals. You removed them? Best regards, Stu
I want the 1880 but do not need a mower deck at all as I have two other tractor mowers plus a zero turn which is so good I took the mower decks off my other tractors. I am simply wanting one to clean my driveway of snow. I have priced one with snowblower at around 13600. I am thinking I want the loader which can also be used for snow removal. Have you ever used yours with a snowblower.
If you want to run the snowblower you need the 2380.... I’m confident the 1880 can handle a plow easily. I just used the bucket last year. There’s no way the 1880 has enough HP for a blower though. The 4-way snow plow on a 1880 or a “snow pusher” is another option too...
I have been doing a ton of research on this tractor and for my application will be the best for my use. I see you have just a blade on the bucket and it seems to do a good job with clearing overgrown areas. would you recommend a pirahna bar to really dig into the ground?
Great review. I'm in the process of purchasing one myself but the dealer keeps telling me turf tires are way better for snow/ ice and muddy conditions. How does yours perform with the R4 tires?
I have one that has the loader and belly mower, I have turf tires but want a stronger tire with more trac. Do those bar tires rip up the turf pretty bad?
I wrote before and I'm still waiting for my dealer to pick up my tractor and switch the tires to R-4 but I have a very slight fluid leak from the quick attach connectors. Any suggestions before I tell my dealer.
@@BobWilson84 It appears to be leaking right where the coupler sits when it's locked down. I have some crows foot wrench's so I'm gonna check all the bolts for torque. I love my new Kubota but I think they use trained Chimps to assemble them. Just a short list of things I had to fix or add to. The coolant was low. All 4 tires were under inflated. I had 2 lug nuts actually fall off and all 4 tires had loose lug nuts as well. I made a big down payment on a very expensive toy and I think it should be better assembled.
@@kagnewmp12 I also had many problems with small things assembled by Kubota Georgia and the dealership. The engine and Trans (assembled in Japan) have been flawless. Took care of the qc issues though and upgraded to the bigger R4 tire/wheels that come on the 2380. Excellent little tractor now, much more stable with the loader.
@@westesh Well all the problems that I mentioned 2 months ago have been fixed and I also have my R-4 tires and so glad for that. I still do not have a delivery date on the skid steer quick change system. My dealer just cannot give me any info as to when he will get any new shipments in. I know it's this damn Covid and lets hope by the end of 2021 most problems including the Covid will be gone or under control. The wife and I have had both of our Covid vaccines. Here's hoping you have also.
@@kagnewmp12 I hear ya man! I'd like to get some skid forks for mine as well. I am not involved in healthcare so still waiting on my vaccine. Things will get better, enjoy your bota!
@@kardyify It's just my humble opinion.... the tractor MIGHT struggle for power if you are cutting tall grass. It's just an assumption I have, please please take with a grain of salt! depending on your grass species and what depth you cut it might work great. Just something to consider.
@@BobWilson84 I had several Kubotas and then got a Deere 1025R and hated the loader valve on it. I wasn’t sure if the smaller kubota tractor had a valve that can do two things at once. Thanks
The bucket is not a fun way to move snow, I tried it for a season. I bought the 4-way front plow and I’m more than impressed. I plan to change the wear bar out to a piece of hard rubber.
I had problems moving snow with the FEL until I added two side panels. Here is the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6hVHvMKf4cs.html
