Man! You're a life (and money!) saver! I had no idea when my used MX5200 was last serviced so wanted to do everything to get a baseline. Your videos have been an incredible resource and likely saved me hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in labor/shop fees. And your "order of operations" when doing several maintenance tasks is super smart and helpful. A huge thanks again, buddy!
Thanks for making this video. Very helpful. I have an MX 5800 and I'm approaching 400 hours service. This walkthrough with your insight is helping me figure out what I need along with how much I need, e.g. fluids, and gives me a good order to do things. Thanks!
Thanks for documenting maintenance, repair, safety and barn finds. You make processes clear which give me the confidence to take on stuff which I would usually have done by a dealer. I have a MX 5800. Glad I found you! Jf
Thanks you for making this video!! I have the exact same tractor/set up.. I now have a lot more confidence and knowledge regarding this service.. My tractor is approaching 400 hours. PS. So nice to see such a well organized and clean shop. No wonder you were very concerned about the oil leaking from the front axle. Thumbs UP!!
Super video…I just did service today on my MX5200 and this helped a bunch….mine is 2wd and gear drive so I escaped getting to play with the front axle. I only have 180 hours but swapped hydro filter as I had no clue if prior owner ever did the full service…..next go round I have to swap hydro fluid. I will see if my ciphon tube will work to fill it when time comes.
On my boat I have a plastic threaded insert that fits into drain hole….it has a tube on it for controlling the fluid….wondering if that would work on front axle drains?
Great tips...over top of these service basics you should remove and clean the primary loader mounting pins, take the belt tensioner pulley bearing out and grease it, and grease the steering column components and shaft. The details are endless but everything makes sense on these orange vroom vroom things.look around long enough and you will find more.
I bought a 2014 mx5200 with 510 hours on it. I've put about 30 hours on it and not sure if the filters have been changed or not. Previous owner passed away. The hydraulic filter thats is on it is gray. Is that a factory filter that's been painted? It doesn't look aftermarket. Thanks for this video! Great content!
I know I am late in answering this, but I just now came across this video. YES! Any gray filters are ORIGINAL filters, and also they are PAINTED OVER after the filters were installed at the factory. This paint is what makes these filters DIFFICULT to remove!!! And is probably why that filter is still on there! The trick is to use a razor knife and run the blade completely around the base of the filter, scoring that paint. This will make it SO MUCH EASIER to remove these filters!
Thanks for the video, very well thought out and well communicated. What’s difference between the MX5100 and the 5200? Is it just the emission controls?
