Absolutely a life saver. I have the MX5800. Thanks to all of your Kubota videos, doing this maintenance for the first time was a breeze. Subscribed.

Thank you for the thorough video, I was questioning pulling that front allen key drain plug. Mine is tight like they may have put locktite on it. I was fixing to put a pipe on the allen to get more leverage and decided to do a search. Thank you!!

Thanks for telling us about how much fluid it takes. Good video.

Hello, Thanks for sharing this and providing a lot of details. There's not many videos on the MX line of tractors despite how many are sold.

One thing i would remind folks, the HST 050# (boarding side) of tractor should be replaced 200 hrs ahead of the transmission suction filter(040#) which is chng evry 400 hrs. Refrence #,s to these filters are only use to locate filter #'s in the manual. They are maual #'s only. The long filter on the R side of tractor IS you transmission suction filter( one w magnet) the shorter on L side is your HST OIL out flow filter according to the manual. Which is all part of the same system. Diffrence is, L side short, no magnet filter ( 200) hrs. Only requires fluid of what you loose during the change. The long R side magnet filter is changed in 400 hrs, at this time change the fluid. Thank you sir for the video. I now am ready for my Long R side + trans/ hydr/ trans fluid change. And i hadnt looked up the plug drain hole referances/ locations.... yet.

I'm glad you saw the new magnet on the new filter; I didn't. The old magnet stayed on the housing so I ended up with both the old and new magnets on the filter and it didn't seal correctly. It took quite a bit of ciphering to figure out why it was leaking.

I guess I never thought about the magnet sticking to the housing. I guess I just got lucky. Thanks for this comment. It would be a good idea to start checking all filter housings for magnets, just in case. I appreciate the info.

Good video. Looks like you took the video on my tractor. The foot wear is about the same and the chain by the left foot is the same!

You seem to be pretty knowledgeable! Thanks for the videos. Also, what do you know about putting ships in your hydraulic relief valve? I just bought a new Mx 5200 and the psi seems pretty low given the 3000 psi hydraulic hoses

Kubota's hydraulic system is week on this tractor (MX series &under). The "profomanced-matched " means a small volume pump, low pressure, and small diameter cylinders--- to get "ANY" speed. All there loaders & back-hoes are just about the Best-builds. With their low capacity it insures longevity, safty,&reliability. Just take a "smaller bite". "Pilling them up" voids the warrenty &is dangerous.

I'm missing the part where you drain the transmission fluid and refill the transmission fluid. Kubota service schedule stipulates I change the fluid every 200 hours and I'm 100 hours overdue.
@mattbachman5291
@mattbachman5291 3 года назад
NO. Every 400 hrs! But the filter on the left side or boarding side of the tractor is replaced in 200 hours, and you may need to cap it off with a gallon or so depending on what you lose in the process. Only when you change the magnetic filter in 400 hours as due, , do you change the fluid.. this man doing this video said he was way over due. ( more then likley on the 200 hr filter.( L) short filter,( no magnent filter) Hes changing BOTH at the same time, when the service manual does not state this as the proper procedure! 1 changed in 200hr,( no fluid change+ add a little of what you lost), the long mag filter in 400 hrs,....and. with the hydro fluid change at that time.

No problem pal, just go another 300hours and throw the whole tractor away! Hydro-static-slip-o-howl-o-matics need CONSTANT & EXPENSIVE hydraulic fluid & hydro filter changes. Tractor maker's & dealers "luv" to sell these units for this reason. You just have to really like that "GO-GO" pedal(s) to put up with this Constant Servicing. BTW --ALL tractors(hydro's) makes & models need this Constant Servicing. Where as "Gear-Drives" cost only 1/3 as much to operate. I know because l own both kinds, where as my friends &associates run "hydro's" 90% of the time. Myself & them are constantly working on them. Thanks for the great vidio Sir and happy safe Tractoring.

That looks like an excessive amount of metal on the magnet. Mine looks like very short fur. Very fine short shavings almost like a powder. Yours had chunks and slivers. You may need to use your Kubota insurance soon!

Was there magnets on all of the plugs as well??

I honestly don't recall.

No magnets on the plugs Sir, kubota "cheeped out again". The LUV selling them 48.oo$ & 78.oo$ filters.

If you run the engine for 1 minute, or maybe 2 minutes, while the plugs are out and the filters are off, will it blow out the residual hydraulic fluid?
@justtinkering6054
@justtinkering6054 3 года назад
I’d be afraid of running it dry and possibly damaging something.
@daveman5860
@daveman5860 3 года назад
@@justtinkering6054 okay. I get ya. But even a few seconds of cranking wouldn't hurt it. That fluid is oily AH. You could basically crank it and watch to see what happens. Of course I don't know much about hydraulic systems per se. But maybe it's meant to hold a residual amount back for a reason. Oh well, just a thought.

What's the hydraulic PSI range supposed to be on a MX 5200 my mx5200 will only lift 1200vlbs
@justtinkering6054
@justtinkering6054 2 года назад
I’m not sure what the PSI should be, but the LA1065 loader should lift 2,275 pounds at the bucket pin. I got this info from www.tractordata.com. There’s a lot of useful information there.
@electrified7309
@electrified7309 2 года назад
@@justtinkering6054 I believe it is 2631 psi. I think that's what it says on this specs pdf. www.kubotausa.com/docs/default-source/brochure-sheets/mx5800.pdf?sfvrsn=1c71be0c_4

Does it take a special tool to remove the filter on the left side?

But they are a BITCHEROO to remove from the factory new!!!! I spent 3 days using all kinds of methods and tools!! ( minus the stab method) naturaly. What helps??? .......run the tractor till its hot, then loosen, then snug up, and wait for it to cool the fluid.

I change fluid in my MX 5100 wished that glass was bigger made it a little easier I was worried I was over feeling also I noticed paint is also off your platform Kubota paint job is very poor
@mattbachman5291
@mattbachman5291 3 года назад
Kubota does not spend extra money on paint jobs. Suposidly to keep prices in check.😂🤣

Yea "Kubogy " paint is nice bright orange but with 6 months of weathering it develops a stylish " pale-pinky-chalky-flaky" Look. Best suited for inside "barn-work". My loader & tractor were two different colors (a MX5200 TLB). paint must really be EPA compliant. The back-hoe & loader buckets must be a "Different Recipe " because after 5 years they look good. Waxing helps put a good aftermarket paint maybe the solution.
