Just confirms everything we thought, Kyrie is selfish and puts himself first over winning. Will never be a great in my book, he was lucky Lebron came around and gave him his spotlight. Now with Tatum bringing back the series to Boston in 7, they are a much better team without Kyries selfishness and no one to hold Tatum back anymore. The Kyrie's, Hardens, Kawhis, and Durant's of the league will never be all time greats making selfish moves like these. If you're Shaq or LeBron and you built a championship legacy for years, you have g14 classification to do whatever you want. But to leave right before a chance to build that... Shameful
Huge Cavs fan. When Kyrie left it reminded me of a saying I heard a few years ago about certain NBA players. "There are players who want to win and there are players who want to win on there own terms".
Thomas when u compare kyrie to lbj or kd or these all time great they’re not great players. Kyrie is definitely one of the best in the league. Greatest handles ever
In todays NBA, Scottie would absolutely have left Jordan at some point. You can see today, it bothers him that people only think of him as being under Jordan’s wing. He won’t ever be viewed differently, and he desperately wants to be viewed differently
He is viewed differently. He's arguably the greatest defender ever, and Jordan wouldn't have won those rings without him-- just as Pippen didn't win a thing without Jordan. The way it went is the best way it could have gone.
@@Nick_a_ra_gua Well Kyrie in Cleveland was no "ride along"-- they wouldn't have gotten that ring without him. What isn't mentioned here is that James was making a lot of noise about leaving and Kyrie just got out first-- nothing wrong with that. He certainly hasn't been effective as the best player on his teams, however-- definitely needs other stars to be effective.
The difference is playing with Durant you can share the spotlight. Curry had plenty of the spotlight with Durant. While lebron gets 100% of the credit.
Kyrie left because he thinks he’s a leader or “the guy” and he showed in Boston that’s not the case. Now he’s in Brooklyn behind yet another much better player
Kyrie had everyone fooled into thinking he was a victim when all along it was him. He made such a big fuss for being “overlooked” but is overlooked now on Brooklyn. The guy is a hypocrite, and he and Kevin Durant love making it seem like someone is out to get them.
@@jakoberondo6381 without mentioning the thingds that are obvious: led the league in assist, finished 2nd in MVP (over Kawhi, btw) is a great defender in the playoffs, in the WCF... and you say he is worse?
This show is so good. Even the segments with minimal jokes age well in terms of content. Astute analysis and hot takes mixed with their personalities got me coming back years later
I agree with Chuck.. you want to be a winner you need to know how to sacrifice. DWade could've focused on being a main guy in Miami. Didn't have to accept LeBron. He already had the accolades. But he adjusts to other players because his mentality is a win first mentality. That's how your remembered. Guys who focus on other things besides winning just become another good NBA player.
@92KOBE24 when it comes to basketball in general it needs to be some type of context or some type of understanding my biggest gripe would be the stats argument beacuse if we are going to praise one why not praise all who do the same ie everyone can pass rebound and score so why is LeBron's abilities and numbers praised more than a giannis or Westbrook I mean Russel did avg a triple double for like three years straight and it's just like oh well he stat pads 😂 but you don't think a guy in LeBron isn't when his team is up 15 2 min left an he's still out there rebounding an driving an kicking come on now lol
@@dollarbill6342 all players stats pads smh. You make it seem like LeBron and Russell is the only one. You even hear formers players saying I wish the coach didn't take me out. You telling me that Klay didn't want to stay in when he score 60 smh
@@smoothgent1011 I'm talking about context dude these stats are being overrated and way too much emphasis is being put on something that is clearly being abused
Shaq sitting up talking he don’t think that way when it comes to MJ. If he was on the team with MIke, it’s Mike team not Shaq’s. Watch the Shaq & Penny 30 for 30, Shaq had a fragile ego that couldn’t stand the smaller star guys getting equal praise.
@@forc3ofxf3ar51 I can see Kyrie's post retirement interview headline now - My Biggest Regret was Demanding a Trade out of Cleveland. Dude's gonna go on about being young and selfish. Rings shine through the shadow homie, no reason to fix what isn't broken.
I wish the camera would have panned to O'Neal during Barkley's point. The feud between Shaq and Kobe was legendary in terms of immaturity and pettiness!
Kyrie was right about one thing: Lebron wasn’t getting “old” or falling off any time soon. 2+ years later and he’s my MVP of this FULL year. Giannis was a bit ahead in regular season but Lebron is taking his team to the Finals and getting the whole team involved.
Kyrie is the opposite of pippen, he could of have it all if he stayed and dealt with it, but left and cemented his future as a failure and a number two / three guy.
Well said, Chuckstar. Hoping no one remembers ure comments about lebron month prior. "He wants all the good players" back then and now "We want so many good players as possible"
Kyrie wanted to prove he could be the man, but did nothing with that determination. Now, he’s back playing second-fiddle to a top-tier player. I was rooting for Kyrie, but he clearly demonstrated that he can’t lead a team to a championship. He is a superstar, but more in line with a CP3 than a Curry imo.
Shaq's terrible work habits did not lend themselves to being "the man" so when he says he disagrees with Chuck around 4:44, he's just as delusional as Kyrie Irving is . . .
Hello 2020 here we are and He has won nothing. Rather he almost destroyed the Harmony of the Boston Team and is now a Second Fidel in Brooklyn. He will only suffer and regret like Carmelo at the end. He is lucky he earned a ring
Couple of points, 1.every star isnt passing of the torch type of player. Often stars are the last one to know there not great anymore. example AI face when someone ask him about coming off the bench in Memphis. 2. Lebron and kyrie had the problem of doing the same thing. Kyrie wants to be a point guard, which is hard to do because lebron likes to have the ball and make decisions on where the ball should go.Kyrie wanted to show there ws more to his gme than scoring which he couldnt do with lebron. 3. Kyrie didnt want to be stuck in Cleveland(the city) 4. The Cavs were built around what works for lebron not kyrie. So by going to another team he has the chance of having something built around him. 5. Whos to say lebron is leaving after this year. I dont see any great options in the west which is stacked. The road to the finals is much easier in the east. So if lebron stays another 3 to 4 years then kyrie runs the risk of being out of his prime by the time the Cavs becomes his team.
Hey man I’m not mad at Kyrie. Playing with bron he’s so big that all the praise goes to him and all the blame goes to everyone else. Some people are ok with latching on to a great. Some people wana make there own staple. I’m not mad at him at all.
2 years later he failed in Boston, they played better without him. He leaves Boston and goes to Brooklyn and fails there too. They played better when he was injured.
This is what happened: Kyrie Irving's idol is the kind of guy who would be so brazen that he would kick the most dominant NBA player on his team off of it so that he could show the world that _he_ is the guy. And Kyrie Irving's idol did exactly that and it inspired him to the point that now he (Kyrie) thinks _he_ was actually better than LeBron who is his version of Shaq. Who's Kyrie Irving's idol? It's the guy he called immediately after he won his first and only ring: Kobe.
@@user-ze7tl2dw4i I wouldn't call Lebron arrogant though. Arrogance is confidence undeserved. It's thinking you're all that, when you aint. Lebron James IS that. He's been to the finals 9 times and won 3. He's a 3 time MVP and a perennial all-star. His confidence is justified by his play. Meanwhile, how much of that had Kyrie done at the time of leaving Cleveland? The only arrogant one in that whole situation was Kyrie and that proved itself true when he failed in Boston and ran to Brooklyn to play second fiddle again. He just couldn't handle the spotlight. He wanted to be the man, but not the one that got blamed when the team falls short.
Lilium Couldn’t have said it better myself. Kyrie also knew to which the extent Cleveland’s front office would shill for Lebron. You saw how many rosters there were in that 2018 season. Kyrie wanted to be the guy who takes all of the shots and has the ball for most of the game, but I don’t think he understood how mentally and physically taxing it would be. It seems like he will be the guy who will reap the responsibilities, because of how outspoken he is and the fact that KD is coming off an Achilles surgery and has already proven himself. KD just wants to hoop; Kyrie wants more but isn’t quite cut out for it.
Being the #1 guy in a larger market like Boston instead of Cleveland... now Brooklyn guarantees him more money, that's why players are so focused on being #1 and on their own brand because they make more money off the court than their NBA salaries... that's all that matters for a lot of these players, money, not championships... just as it should be, I worry about my family first.
Kyrie needs the ball on his hands. He is not a catch and shoot guy. That's not his style. While he with KD now, he is still with a player who has shared the court with Curry and doesn't need the ball always. Also even today, Lebron can just score 16 point triple double, while AD can score 30 point double double with blocks and steals and still the media talks about Lebron not AD. He just didn't want to be like that. He joined KD because they can coexist and grow together and not just make a catch and shoot guy.
Well it’s been how many years now, and we see Kyrie is just a pawn in KD game plan. And like I said before, I mean ten years ago when KD stared at LBJ on the court during the game. I saw nothing but, 😡😏 in his eyes.
I'm from the future, where Kyrie washed out in Boston. Two years after he runs to Brooklyn and trashes that organization, too, Boston makes it to the NBA Finals.
huh. 4:05 ....this is in direct contradiction to what he said about bron in 2017 when bron said management needs to bring another star and charles said that bron doesnt want to compete. Now he says that you wanna play with as many great players as possible?
When LeBron leaves is not toxic but when Kyrie leaves it’s toxic. why would Kyrie ever want to play with a player who hogs the ball and does not maximize Kevin love Kevin love is the reason why they could not beat the GSW…GSW weakness was inside love was forced to lose weight and never got enough post touches in a game at all LeBron came to coaches and management and ask if he could get Kevin Love out on the three-point line away from the basket so he could drive so he was forced to lose 20 pounds for LeBron James not himself
One of the times where shaqs 'ive won rings as THE MAN' argument would fit. Kenny can't grasp it cos he has rings but he's an average player , chuck was a great player but never won
Anyone who watches kyrie’s twitch streams of recent, he explains why he moved to Boston. Honestly media definitely dragged him and he didn’t deserve hate for leaving.
Chuck dosen’t get it. You want to be the best player on your team and chuck just wants to win. Shaq said he don’t feel that way he wants to be the best player and have it known that it’s his team
