PAROL (lanterns) The Giant Lantern Festival is an annual festival held in mid-December in the City of San Fernando in the Philippines. The festival features a competition of giant parol lanterns. Because of the popularity of the festival, the city has been nicknamed the "Christmas Capital of the Philippines". 4. BAKUNAWA (sea serpent dragon) In Philippine mythology, Bakunawa is a gigantic sea serpent deity of the deep and the underworld who is often considered as the cause of eclipses. Was once known to be a beautiful goddess who lived at the bottom of the sea, she was mesmerised by the light that was shining. She went up and saw the moon, so beautiful. 5. KARÍT (sickle) A traditional Filipino tool with a semicircular blade attached to a short handle. It is used for cutting grain, tall grass, tress and rice plants called Palay. This tool shows in the movie, one of the region of Kumandra called 'Tail'. 6. KALIS/KAMPILAN (sword) is a type of double-edged Filipino sword of Maranaos, often with a "wavy" section, can be used for both cutting and thrusting. 7. BAHAY KUBO (nipa hut) is a type of stilt house indigenous to the cultures of the Philippines. It is also known as payag or kamalig in other languages of the Philippines. It often serves as an icon of Philippine culture. In addition, Philippines is known for spices and food. The rice was also featured and we all know that filipinos love to eat rice.
