Lagoon 46 Options - The List of #Options needed for blue water cruising, Make sure it does not go in the FORGOTEN list. Here is our excell #PRIVATELIST of extras and options needed after your take delivery o the boat. This List is LAGOON GENERIC, meaning it can be used for any brand of boat. Many people are lured to believe that when you buy a new #sailboat you are all set to take delivery of it and you are ready to sail away. Nothing could be further from the truth than this statement. On this video I would like to go thru a list of options needed if not required for any blue water cruiser that plans to sail away and discover the world. Although our boat is a #LAGOON46 catamaran this video can serve as the base for anyone that has recently bought a sailboat used or new and need guidance on how to equip it and dont miss anything out. There is no doubt this guy have owned a Lagoon before. If you have the cash i gues you can do all of this at once. This was a very good put together starter manual from start to finish.

Are you making the pre-delivery / post-delivery spreadsheets available? They would be helpful in planning, and the Lagoon 46 is at the top of our 40-49 footer list in front of the F-P Elba 45. We are still a few years away from purchase, but in full planning and shopping phase now and have made the decision. We have a handle on a lot of it, but are probably overlooking many smaller items, and these sheets would be very helpful.

@@SailingJoy I said this because I didn't get that spreadsheet. But it's okay. Btw, do u need license from RYA or any other paery for "driving" yacht or not? Do you guys have any?

Understood and you if you need help with the spreadsheet just let me know. No license is required to pilot a recreational vessel in the US. All you need is your DL. Now in many countries around the world it is required to have a license. I have taken the ASA courses and use that booklet to record all my nautical mileage. It comes in handy for insurance purposes. Do you own a vessel or planing to buy one ? All the best.

@@SailingJoy Não tenho detalhes. Vi hoje no episódio do Delos e fiz uma rápida pesquisa no site da Viasat. O equipamento é o Viasat Sailor. Parece que resolveram a questão da estabilidade da "antena". Abçs!

Se você está vendo esse video em 2023, o sistema da Viasat instalado no Delos era um projeto piloto que a empresa propôs para eles. Agora, parece que o Bryan vai desistalar porque não tem cobertura no Pacífico.

Out of curiosity does Lagoon offer any electric motors with a large battery bank as a factory option? Also, is there more than one shore cord, and what is the amperage of the shore cords?

E K lagoon does not offer an option for additional batteries. You need to do that afterwards. We may do it once solar pan ela are installed. Our boat will be 220v / 50mhz / 12v inside for lamps and other electronics. We will have a large inverter to use 220v when needed as well.

Also. Forgot to mention on my previous message. There are two shore cords. One to connect to electricity and one for the AC.

Sailing Joy thanks. If house loads are at 220 volts and 50 Hz, then what do you do, for instance, when you sail to the USA? How do you connect to a different grid voltage and frequency?

Sailing Joy thanks. If I understood, one shore cable is for regular house loads, and the second shore cable is for air conditioning. If I misunderstood, an alternative explanation is that one shore cable is for 12-volts or 24-volts and the second shore cable is for alternating current.

maybe buying a slightly used well equipped privately owned cat that has done a few seasons where all the parts have bedded in and proved themselves to be reliable and needed .

Richard that was definitely an option and many times that proves to be the best route one can take. In our case because we had our hearts on a new Lagoon 46, a model from Lagoon that has been recently introduced we could not take that path. We are enjoying the road to prepare but without a doubt there are many privately owned yachts out there that already have everything you Imagine installed, been just a matter to try to negotiate a great deal. darren G Thanks Darren ! Super appreciated you been with us. It was actually going to be now in March but with all the issues with international travel we had to put a hold to it. We are still planning to take delivery of the new boat this year and cross the bay of biscay. Be safe out there.
