Follow along on our adventure catching this rare, wild, Stream-resident Lahontan Cutthroat. One of the only places in California that still hosts these Cutts in their native waters.
This catch qualifies for the California Heritage Trout Challenge.

The difference in a day before and after catching that first fish is wild haha you get that one fish and then the rest of the day it is just fun, no stress 😆

Great catch! Love some of those small stream for Lahontan. Got a nice one like that as well on the Carson!

Thank you. A 5 pound Lahontan is an excellent fish! We attempted to make a trip to Heenan Lake to catch a lake form Lahontan last year, but unfortunately, they closed the lake the morning of our arrival to fight forest fires. I might check out the East Carson this year.

Yes, I like Tenkara. I got into it a few years ago. It's a simple, fun setup.

It is a gorgeous area! I am not sure if I should publicly reveal precisely where we were at, the area is part of a restoration effort to bring the threatened Lahontan Cutthroat back to its heritage waters.

Hahaha and I'm headed to the bleeeeeeep river to fish for browns. Much respect for not spewing out the name on yt. But eww you fish with tenkara rod lol
