Despite leading by as many as 14 points, the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 104-99 last night. Ja Morant finished with 41 Pts while LeBron James had 37 points in the loss. The King had a chance to tie it in the final seconds, but the purple and gold couldn’t even get a shot off in the final seconds and Memphis escaped with the win. @@burna21bit Westbrook is leading all point guards in the NBA in turnovers this season. He's second overall in turnovers, He's shooting roughly 60% from the free throw line, His PER is 91st in the league. He has a lot of deficiencies even if you have trouble understanding them. **Edit** Not only are his numbers ugly from an efficiency stand point, he also accounts for approx 20% of the teams entire salary cap. You can not win like that.

This is exactly like the Kobe-Dwight team. They bring in guys that have star power but doesnt work, doesnt fit, too old, and lacks team defense. They brought Nash, Dwight, DAntoni. It was a weird team. And instead of lessening Kobe's load, his minutes increased to increase his production. That ended really badly for everyone especially Kobe.

But that season Kobe tore his Achilles tendon. If it wasn't for all the injuries the Lakers' record would be way better. I think Westbrook and Lakers need more time practicing together. LeBron said like a few days ago after the game against Houston that because of the injuries and covid that the Lakers have only had like 12 or so good practices the whole season.

@@nelsonrealest uh...yeah. I used to be a runner and I reached my absolute peak in college. I literally trained so much that the ligaments that hold my feet together began to come apart. I never accomplished what I wanted to in college and it still haunts me nearly 10 years later. When you want something more than anything, "at least I tried" doesn't cut it.

The momentum shifted when LeBron went to the bench for rest in the third quarter. The Lakers’ offense stagnated at that point, Memphis took advantage of that, and that was how they eventually won the game.

I found it “interesting “ that Lebron was on board for bringing in Westbrook. Because Lebron has always been lauded as an extremely high I.Q basketball player, and Russ has always been criticized for his “low” basketball IQ… As a basketball fan in general, I always thought this was an odd signing (strictly based on the narratives) Poor basketball I.Q leads to poor team chemistry and with this older group chemistry is extremely important. Not surprisingly the Lakers are struggling as a collective.

Kobe once said in an interview with T Mac with Rachel Nichols, that basically Westbrook and Harden's style of score score and make individual stats but not move the ball around, will not win championships. Something to keep in mind, high turnovers lead to poorer defense, especially on big slow guys that need to set up. All those turnovers make your defense look MUCH different, that's why Westbrook's value is MUCH lower than YOU realize.

Russ and harden are two of the most overrated mvps ever but harden earned his but now we know it's due to cp3 that they won 65 games...both of them stat pad in different ways neither are playoff closers or clutch...their fans overrate them based on stats the way lebron fans used to overrate him in vs kobe debates pre 2010..I remember lebron stans trying to argue kobe vs bron in 06 and I was like it's night and day....stats do not mean your better...it's about skill how you effect a game without the ball stats wise...how a team has to worry for kobe from 3 off ball and how lebron does nothing off ball..that matters way more than rebs or missed shots to get points

Coaching is a key point that is not being addressed. As a, coach you should see the momentum changing the game and start using timely time-outs, changing out key players. Basically knowing your team and player's skills so you can fit the best players into the best position to be successful. The Lakers has a coaching problem that the players can't fix on the court

You can't just get players no matter how talented or skilled they are and expect instant success. The players need a winning system no matter who is on the team. Firing the coach, sometimes is not realistic especially in the middle of a season. The coach, no matter who is at the helm needs to know what works or don't work, how to break momentum, how to focus on particular opponents' players and get results, be dynamic, willing to change in the middle of the game, reaching back into the depth of their experience to formulate a possible solution to a winning combination. If you fail to develop a winning trend, then re-evaluate the system.

La don't defend cause it means their offense goes in the tank cause old guys lose their legs.....la kept the grizz to under 105 which is good on the road vs a 4 seed in the modern nba at the faster pace la plays at usually but you notice how despite lebron going for 37 monk showing up they could not score 100 cause melo russ bradley collison dwight are old and 4 of them tried to focus more on offense and when they didn't they could not score..they can't do both well....they need davis for that...stanley played ok again but his offense sucks
