I rarely comment on videos, but I just wanted to say that this was such an exceptional interview/historical deep dive into the Range Rover. It's phenomenal to hear it through the lens of the designer. I remember seeing the Range Stormer and being in complete awe of it back in the early 2000's - dreaming of one, but never really seeing produced. I agree with so many of the points here. I ended up getting an LR4, which I will say, is one of my most handsome and favorite cars I've ever owned - even in 2023, it looks amazing. I made a little documentary about my LR4 and the adventures we went on (which I uploaded last year to tell my car how much I appreciated him). The most capable friend I could ever have to not only join me on my adventures, but help to enable them. Last week, I said goodbye to my LR4 and traded him in for a Range Rover Evoque Coupe. It took a long while to find the perfect one - I read that something like 95% of sales were the 5-door and 5% were of the 3-door variant, which is why Land Rover stopped producing them. Anyway, reason I'm bringing this up is, while the Evoque is at times considered less capable, it has so much of the DNA of the Range Rover Stormer. I love how it's like a Power Wheels for adults. Makes me smile every time I get in - totally looks like a concept car come through and through. I hope that beyond the Defender, Land Rover continues to make interesting and unique iterations of their vehicles, like coupes and convertibles, if only to challenge conventionality and to push boundaries. I'm grateful for brands like Land Rover that go out there and take chances and create magnificence through passion. Andy's attention to detail and understanding of the supply chain and collaboration needed is inspiring. Great job, team! Thanks Jason, Andy and Team for this.

Andy's notion towards the importance of a concept, in respect to crafting a narrative and readying the public for a bold new design direction, is incredibly insightful stuff.

I remember going into work experience many years ago and i spent 2 weeks under Andy at JLR! What a wonderful and inspiring guy! Top bloke! I am where I am today because of some of the guidance he gave me!

I still remember fondly the Range Stormer concept to this day because from the first moment I saw it in a magazine (I want to say CAR?), I absolutely loved the "crushed ice" headlights, and was immensely disappointed that never made it to any production vehicle.

Back in Dubai in 2008 we built a nearly identical copy of the stormer. It was well received and many people fought to buy it.

I remember this prototype, it blew my top off! Nineteen years later and still relevant to today's trends. Very well done x

Remember seeing the Stormer at a Car show in 2004 and immediately wanting one. Coincidentally I was wearing a extravagant suit in exactly the same colors the day of the show, a perfect match.

This makes me love my 2012 two door evoque, it’s like a cousin of the stormer in my eyes.

Best looking Range Rovers there’s ever been the new models, we’ve got a 2013 Vogue SDV8 and absolutely love it, can’t see how they can improve it so really looking forward to one of the newer models 👍🏼 Absolutely love this interview and absolutely love Andy, definitely going to look into more content with him in, knows the cars inside out.

I fell in love with range rover when they did the range stomer concept then they did the LRX concept in 2008 at the Detroit auto show I said I would get one of them if it came out. fast forward 15 years later I have the evoque coupe which was based on the lrx concept. great video keep up the good work. ps would like to see a video on the lrx concept.

Fabulous vehicles, I have a 2007 2.7 & 2010 3:0 RRS , they put so much effort designing top class vehicles and then leave them with about a dozen silly mechanical & electrical issues and from what I hear the new range of vehicles are prone to lots of sensors problems etc.

That CX-75.... what a shame it never happened.

Best wheels should do these as an option now

I obsessed with cars since 2020 I think, and I used to obsessed with Honda CR-V until late 2022. Range Rover with Lambo door is gorgeous.

Genius. Great to see the passion behind what must be the best range of classic auto products. The point about 'some designs' being just to make a 'look at me' controversial statement about the owner rings so true - just to appeal to the markets that demand outrageous, befinned and crass visuals that will date quicker than a soggy banana. Nothing wrong with the Talbot Tagora, either!

The funny thing is that the chief designer is called Wheel

All that nice damn body work and they can make a reliable Range Rover. Stick a damn Mercedes power plant in them and make them appealing.

Pre 2013. Love how the Gas door used to sit above the door line. Mirrors used to look ten times better and the front and rear just exuded Range Rover. Chunkiness, presence. They fell off after That.

The L320 sport had better proportions than the L494. You have to sort of settle for a L405 or better yet a L322 just to reclaim back some of the meat they trimmed off. Sorry models from 2014 and up just never settled with me.

Actually they're Alfa doors. They were the first to have a car featuring scissor doors.

These car are tough, buff, muscular and tanky
