Really enjoying your style. It is easy for us armchair mechanics to see you make a mistake, but I also know that being on camera is hi pressure and easy to forget a step or two. I appreciate the fact that you don't hide that you make mistakes, so easy to do with editing. One thing I've seen others do is to speed up repetitive tasks to save us from watching you tighten several of the same bolts. Looking forward to a Series 200 Radiator and water pump replacement as well as a starter.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't see the point in editing out the mistakes. I try and use them as a learning experience. I've started trying to edit out a bunch of bolt tightening as I get better with the software. I need to figure out how to speed sections up.

This is a good reference but missing some important info: 1) BE SURE TO ADD 5th gear OILER (he forgets then needs to redo the whole thing) 2)***If converting from an FJ60 4spd- TAP & PLUG the extra t-case to trans bolt hole under the trans output shaft*** Very important as this hole is for a long bolt that can't be used when converting due to the 5th gear. Fluid will migrate from the transmission to the t-case causing leaks in t-case and low oil levels in transmission!!!

The seal on the transmission output shaft, what is the correct direction... other videos show the flat surface flush with the back facing toward the T case gear, this video shows the flat side facing toward the transmission. I tried to match how it was when I took mine apart, but the old seal is a little different than the new one. But mine had the flat side flush with the flat side of the case (opposite to how this video shows). I'm thinking maybe the direction is not too crucial as it looks like it will seal over the input gear either way.
@OTRAMM

Flat side facing the transmission since it's purpose is to hold the gear oil in the transfer case.

Thanks for the great video! I’m trying to replicate. The bushing inside my high gear was worn badly along w output shaft damage (causing a lot of noise) so I replaced both with new but gear wouldn’t spin. So I swapped the low gear bushing into the high gear and spins great. Put the new bushing into the low gear. Now I’m having difficulty with frozen low gear (won’t spin on output shaft). These bushings are the older/solid-type bushing. So do you think I should I try the newer barrel-shaped bearing-style gear bushing from the later >’86 models?

I noticed you did not install one in the video what is your opinion? any help greatly appreciated.
