Land Raider Proteus - Unboxing (HH) 

My God !! I'm so old, I can remember buying two of these for £10.00 , back in the eighties 🙂🙂

I still remember the White Dwarf adverts when they sold a box of 2 Landraiders for £12 or £13. From the pictures on GW site, I feel like these new ones might be slightly longer than the original.

I still feel like these tanks should be much bigger. In it's current size, terminators would have to crawl from that front ramp opening.

These Landraiders are looking great. Can't wait for mine to be delivered.

Got one of these on Saturday. Using in in my 40k chaos army

Just for your interest: In the Heresy rules the Proteus Carrier can transport up to 12 models (Terminators count as 2 as usual) and has the assault vehicle special rule - so you can charge out of the assault ramp. The Proteus Explorator can only carry up to 8 models (so no Terminator / full size 10 man squad) and it does not have the assault vehicle rule. However, it is a scout and can therefore infiltrate.

I can't wait to see it built for some professional comparison. I'm not sure about this one yet.

At some point Ill have to compare this proteus to the original land raider to look at proportions. Just how much bigger it will be I wonder

I play 40k and I'm using the Chaos Land Raider. I can't decide between this and the Spartan to use as a proxy, so I think I'm just gonna get both! There is such a thing as collecting, right? 🤷‍♂️😄 They'll both look good with spikes and chains.

Despite not playing Horus Heresy I wish I could afford some of these.😔

Iconic or not, it looks stupid and always looked stupid, Spartans or MKII B is where its at.

I honestly don't get the appeal of that thing at all. It's the shortbus equivalent of a Land Raider. Which isn't a compliment. Maybe if it was kind of an open top, sort of a Land Speeder but on the ground, instead of that horrid quad. But like this. Nah, not for me. If you're a completionist okay fine, but otherwise. No thanks.
