Grey or black wheel centre caps on black Land Rover rims? That is the big question that Simon has to deal with in this weeks Friday Five.
After all the work of refurbishing and painting the rims the last little thing that was missing was painting the wheel caps.
You would think that this was the easy part, but was it?

Hahahaha, I know, right? 😂 Should probably trademark that. 😉 For small parts it's the perfect setup, it's at the right hight, it's clean (out of the box), it keeps the paint in and don't get me started on the cost. 😂

Thanks Jerry, I actually thought about that when rewatching the clips and editing this video. It would be cool to have the original green in the middle. Will have to test that out one day. I do have a centre cap surprise coming which I really am excited about. 😉 And it's so true, everyone have a different taste and I'm glad, think how boring the world would be if we all liked the same things. 😅

Cracking vids and content mate but really don't like the job you've done on the wheel centres. Painting over the logo is a bit rough. You can buy black centres for the wheels for about £10 to £15 and although the black would not be a paint match to the wheels it would of been a lot better of a job.

Hello buddy.. love ur videos!! Are you using new wheels 18 or 19 inches? My lr3 I bought it came with 19 inches wheels from factory but I want more thick rubber on tires! What’s your recommendation? Thanks

Hey mate and thank you so much! Love the nick, Yamahaking 👌, you should see my Viking 3 snowmobile. 😂 But yeah, depending on your model year, mine 2008, you can fit 17" if you have the small brake calipers, if not, 18" is the smallest. I have 17" original rims and it is what I would recommend. Just be sure to check the load rating on the rims you get. 17" rims, tires that big enough but not as big if the air suspension drop you can still roll the car. 😊 I have 265/65R17, seems to be good both on road and for overlanding and light off-road. Gearing is good, not noticing any hunting of gears between fifth and sixed. 😊 Happy new year! Simon

I have all back center cups, but what about the wheels nuts? Mine is like yours, but I'm thinking of going all black ...😅

Yeah, was thinking the same but have seen some bad black nuts, maybe they are steel and therefor they rust really bad. But maybe there are some good aluminium out there? I haven't done to much research on it as I found they cost more than I would like. 😊
