I use a blanket stitch on the edges of my postcards. That uses way less thread. Also, I don't have to fuss getting the edge covered completely. I often use a variegated thread based on what colors are in the postcard, and use the one thread to go all the way around. I love your green mountains!

Beautiful! One could do these by hand as art pieces (like Jude Hill's channel) then adhere them. Great series, thank you.

This was a great tutorial, thanks so much for sharing! I’ve never done this before so I’m excited to try. What type of needle and foot are you using to stitch.
@Stitchinpost
@Stitchinpost 3 месяца назад
Nothing special. Your standard sewing foot and needle will work fine.

Loved the video but you said you would say what you used for the fabric backing as you said it was not Wonderunder or heat and bond. What is it? Thanks
@Stitchinpost
@Stitchinpost 11 месяцев назад
The stiff base is called Fast2Fuse, the fusible web that Jackie is using in the video is WonderUnder. Steam-A-Seam also works. The one she couldn't remember the name of is Heat'NBond, which is a third brand of fusible web. They come in different weights also. stitchinpost.com/collections/fusibles-interfacing

Is there no stitching over the mountains? Looks like it is missed with all the others being done.
@Stitchinpost

You're correct, Jackie usually does stitch over the top of the mountains. I think she skipped it in the demo since it was explained how to do that stitch in other areas.

I have a silly question: you said you used a satin stitch to finish the outlines. A satin stitch is an embroidery term…are you just using a tight zig zag perhaps? Otherwise you don’t have a hoop in your machine…
@Stitchinpost
@Stitchinpost 11 месяцев назад
A satin stitch is a very dense stitch most machines offer and yes it is pretty much a super tight zig zag. You can usually change the width of the stitch and how close together the stitches are. No hoop needed.

You need a much stronger microphone.
