This is the most amount of prep work I have ever seen going into treat or lance and abscess on an animal, it is wonderful to see how much Care this Vet has put into his work 👏🏼
I wish my Dr took that level of care with me. And yes you are quite correct with your comment regarding being in the right profession. I've had 356 hospital admissions over the last 41 years & I feel that I just pay for my doctor's annual holiday or his kids' fancy toys. Perhaps I should ask for a 2nd opinion from my local vet? I couldn't agree with you more. They did a great job caring for this animal .Too often animals get treated as if they are not a living feeling being. I also strongly believe that animals were not just put on this Earth to benefit humans. Human beings absolutely benefit from the lives of animals but they also have lives of their own. I cannot stand the fact that human beings think that they are more important than any other animal on this planet and that is just simply not true. Human beings can be truly arrogant in this way. I think every farmer and every veterinarian should first and foremost be an animal lover. It may surprise you to hear but that's not always the case. I had an interesting discussion with my seven-year-old son about how the killer whales are treated at SeaWorld. We do not participate in going to any zoos or aquariums. It goes against our beliefs. But he had made a comment about how the trainers at SeaWorld are also animal lovers. I had to disagree with him. They may very well think of themselves as animal lovers. I think they truly believe they are. I believe that if a person truly loves animals they would never want to see them in that situation. They certainly would not participate in keeping them in that situation. Ok ok I'm sorry my rant is over. Back to my original thought which was this veterinarian did a absolutely wonderful job.
@@yourmama938 the one place my family and I visit is Monkey World in England uk. They take in rescue and laboratory monkeys that have been damaged by humans and move heaven and earth to look after them. Truly inspiring place. It’s on the tv too, trying to show people NOT To have pet monkeys etc xx

You call that super clean?Seeing that in the background there are other cows and that a straw with a bacteria can go through someone's foot And if that cow has a little scrape on the bottom of her hoof and the Ibades bacteria can get in there
This vet knew what he was doing, and the importance of making the animal a little relaxed and numming it, they feel that pain just like we do. Thumbs up for this amazing vet 👍🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Not sure where you're from or where you are seeing cattle being hacked at by someone but I live in Canada and have worked in vet clinics, big and small. Veterinarians do not hack up any animals and put them through more pain then they might already be dealing with. Most, if not all abcess procedures are very similar to this video. They are doing a procedure in a non sterile environment so he's doing his best not to cause infection before they even start the process. This is pretty standard for veterinarians.
I really love that it took him a long time to just prep the area and clean it! You can tell this man is a really good farmer and cares for his livestock. And is doing everything in his power to make the cow comfortable and not getting infection, good job!
You can tell this vet loves the animals and his job they way he cares for them, his preparation before opening the abscess/cyst and his care after, he deserves a medal 100%

Imagine the relief that poor cow got when it was opened up. Yikes Refreshing to see a vet who actually cares about animals and took the time to clean and prep the area and treated the cow as a living, breathing, feeling creature. Not all vets do that. Some just stab the area and squeeze it out as if the animal can't feel it.
Wow that was so much fluid trapped in such a small area! The pain that cow must have been in,and the relief it felt after was night and day to say the least. The vet did such an amazingly thorough job,and that had to smell horrible. Really great to see people with rough jobs at their best.
It’s absolutely heartwarming the kindness this vet has for this cow. The procedure he performed with actually numbing the area and the prepping the skin, all care one would give to a human being. Definitely very respectful of animals in his care. I have the highest respect and much gratitude for veterinarians as this gentleman.
It is wonderful that the farmers take so care of their critters. I was a Surgical Tech for almost 35 years, I've seen most of everything and greatly appreciate our farming friends and their animals care.

I love how you clean the area, give them numbing medicine and are so gentle. Some farmers just take a knife and cut a hole to drain those assesses. From an old city girl it makes me feel good to see these cows treated like you would a dog.
Awesome job, fellas. I love this doctor, I love this farmer. She got excellent and humane care. She was clipped, shaven, numbed, drained, packed, and even cleaned. Excellent care, thank you guys for being so good to her.
I just want to say, thank you for taking care of these cows. A lot of people just think of them as money, milk and food and don’t treat them that well or take care of things like this.
I am from Amish Country and They Wouldn’t have a vet at all for this. The vet was wonderful and absolutely caring. God Bless The Owners to care enough to have this taken care of. Great Job.!!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving the cow some lidocaine. She didn't even flinch when you opened up the cavity. I've seen videos with people jabbing a dirty pocket knife into a dirty cow. So sad. That's why I say THANK YOU. Great job!
Right! It's sad that we viewing this are actually surprised that local anesthetic was actually used. When the rare method is what should without question be the common way of doing things you know shit has gone far too wrong in an industry that treats living, breathing, animals as a for-profit commodity.
Just because you don't see the vet inject a local anesthetic doesn't necessarily mean they haven't. Especially since it takes up to a half an hour for the drug to reach full potency.
Totally agree with you..he took blood, gave antibiotics , pain numbing medication and shaved and cleaned to prep the skin. I hope he chewed there buts if it had been there more than 48 hrs.
That's a crazy statement... If course they do... Havent your ever seen a farmer just take aim, spit and wipe it with a pack of white imprinted paper napkins he stole from McDonald's? Fact. M. Il.

This vet is so gentle and kind to this cow. He prepares everything just perfectly before starting the procedure. This is a true professional with a big heart.
I heard pus was in our milk. It's a shame the leave the machines on till it tear the cow, cow get infection and pass it on. How long was that a seat on the cow they got help for it. All that pus it had to be there for awhile. I guess I'll go buy me some almonds and get my vita mix out. Greed. But I very happy to see they are taking care of the animal
i can’t even begin to imagine the pain relief from all that pressure and pus streaming out like that, i’m sure it was immediate relief. and he was so gentle and caring, poor sweet girl, happy she’s clearly i’m very good hands tho!
Agree, my gosh all that awful drainage immediately started running down her hind leg. She had to have felt so much better. Felt so sorry for the cow she must have been hurting! Thanks to the vet for his care and the way he prepped the site prior to starting the procedure. Thank you to the vet and hope the cow feels much better soon.
I totally agree with all the other positive comments here, the vet deserves a medal for his caring attitude to the animals comfort and welfare. All too often we see these kind of videos where little to no care is given to the animals feelings or indeed the hygiene of the procedure. When he first poked it with the tiny needle, I was like, “well this is going to take a month and a half to drain.” Then I realized it was just a tester. Then he lanced it, and I could see the cow’s leg deflating. Sooooo satisfying.
I don't know who the vet was. He has my respect. Thank you sir for your gentle treatment and professional way he treated the cow There are sooooo many animals that are so abused. Bless you for caring.

I know. Typically animals are jumpy despite that the vets are helping. Aside from being a little skittish, this cow new the vet was a friend & took great care of her.

I absolutely love the way you guys handled that abscess, it show you care about the animals. there was a video where the guy just took his knife out and stabbed the cows leg.

That was probably one of the coolest things I've seen. It was just spewing big ass chunks and lumps out of the incision and it just kept coming. Then injecting air into the wound to force it iut
Thank you for doing right by that animal. There are so many people out there that have no idea what they are doing and just jab a random dirty knife into an access with no sanitary conditions whatsoever, not to mention any numbing, antibiotics, etc.
