For all of the many dozens of videos I have watched dealing with major abscesses on Farm Animals; this is the very first one I have seen where the vet has actually used local anesthetic to numb the area the scalpel is going to cut through flesh!!!!! Absolutely respect this vet 100%.
A vet that actually numbed the poor cow! As humans we KNOW these hurt. Of all the videos I've seen with this procedure, this is the very 1st time I've seen the cow numbed! That gives high respect to this particular vet! He did a hell of a thorough job getting all the possible abscess remnants as well. I'm sure this cow had a perfect recovery time on that abscess. A++++ Vet right there!
@@Trinidad342 it’s packing to help the abscess heal from the inside out. Otherwise it will create a pocket because the outside skin will heal closed before the pocket has a chance to heal inside.
I’ve seen a lot of animals abscesses this is by far the best vet that I have seen being very kind to the animal as can be for the situation Great job Doc ❤️
I agree with you I have watched some vets ect and another vet I watch is also good and gentle Enoch the vet look him up also he the same as this guy many kudos
I hope Doc gave that cow a lot of good pain meds and antibiotics. That was definitely one of the deepest cysts I've seen in an animal. I felt so badly for it. Good luck!
This veterinarian knows exactly what he's doing and what is best in this situation, especially for the cow. He is very clean and does his work so as not to contaminate anything. He kept adding solution and kept washing it out until it was cleared of as much of the stuff inside as possible. The strong antibiotics will assure a great recovery. He is an excellent veteranarian.
I have a crush on this veterinarian. I've watched several of his videos and the kindest most gentle Dr I have ever witnessed. He has a fluid perpetual motion with each and every precision of treatment. z
Excellent skills and compassion (numbing) along with patience shows this cow is under the care of an excellent Vet. God bless you sir. I know she feels 100% better. Id love to see the follow up.
I've watched a couple of these vids. I'm really glad to see you actively removing fibrin tissue throughout the process rather than just waiting for the incision to become obstructed. I think this makes for a much cleaner sinus and the best chance of removing fluid from the abscess.
This vet is excellent, obviously knows what he's doing, does a thorough efficient job, and is kind. I'll bet all his patients love him. Bless you. Oh, where do you live? Because if I ever get a big abscess I want you to treat it.
Wow! What an amazing VET! He numbed the cow as much as possible, cleaned the area and used iodine before cutting! I have watched a ton of Vets on here and they never numb cows and bulls! I think this vet actually cares about every living creature who can feel pain ! Nice job! I will Definitely watch your channel!
Sooooo much better than all the other vids where people just stick these poor animals with knives as if that isn’t the most painful thing ever. Thank you for actually having COMPASSION!
I love how you make this procedure as clean you can and take the time to clean off the animal and fully treat the condition. I didn't see the cow flinch at all which indicates proper anesthesia.
Such a caring, thorough and comprehensive procedure to relieve that poor cow of that horrible infection! This was a treat and I hope she healed up completely once that drain was removed and the antibiotic(s) had their full capability to help. I've watched a number of videos where a vet drives up, assesses the abcess and "pow!" --cuts an inch and a half opening and stands back to watch the goo shoot out, I've never seen any of them go in with a needle and a hemostat to break up the congealed junk and compress the area to make sure the maximum amount is worked out. Then, carefully cleaning up the site and applying betadine and (I'm guessing) spraying that antibacterial spray both in and around the wound. That's one fortunate cow and a happy dairyman! Thanks for documenting this procedure all those 7 years ago.
Amazing. I have never seen so much infection come out of a cow. So much and such big clots. Dr you are a true professional compared to some I’ve seen. Great work.
I think the clots you referred to were actually the sac that held the abscess. If you don’t remove the sac, the abscess will return. This veterinarian really cares about his patients.
That poor cow must have been in so much pain before the abcess was reduced. That is the worst I have seen. Thank you for the careful, compassionate care.
True Vet 👏👏👏 numbed the cow cleaned the area used gloves and clean ones 👀 and used forceps not his fingers 👀😱 you Sir are my Hero 👏👏👏👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 no showing off no loud mouth and you have done all Vets proud 👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌹💓
04:50 Sooo satisfying!! As for the doctor, he's amazing. Compassionate, humane, CLEAN, thorough, a wonderful doctor. This sweet girl must feel a huge relief, I'm glad for her.
Wonder how long this poor cow had this abscess. The abscess didn't get this large overnight. The poor cow had to endure so much pain and yet she had to continue to be milked. Thanks to the vet who cared for the cow you are a wonderful man
Notice how this Vet can preform this procedure without the Animal in a Crush, and the Cow is calm, and hasn't even flinched... This Vet has a very precise, gentle, caring hand, and it can be felt by the Animal, and why it remains so calm... Brilliant work! ❤❤❤❤
This made me cry seeing how deep the infection went. When he pulled massive fibrin and forming scar tissue it was just heartbreaking. The pain that cow was in. It is underweight. I hope she is a rescue or save and this is condition she was left in and they are now medically and nutritionally helping her. Any update?
I know! She was skin and bones😔 I don't know how she was able to provide good milk in her condition, but I know nothing about Dairy cows. So glad the Vet did such a compassionate and thorough job!
BEST ABCESS removal ever!!! Poor cow will feel so much better👍I watch these all the time and I've never seen so much stuff come out before. GREAT VET!!!!!!!
Watching other “vets” take blades to the poor girls the jump back as they kick because of the pain just hurts my heart. Watching true professionals that love animals like this warms my heart. 🥰 Thank you for taking great care of these wonderful animals.
Did anyone else think the poor cow looked a bit too boney, too thin? At least she must feel better now, bless her. Cows eyes are so hauntingly beautiful 😍
This Vet is really quite amazing. He is working in almost primitive conditions and he does it like a trooper! All the options and comforts the vets here in America have show just what a hell of a job he does. Great Work Doctor, you are a credit to your profession!!!
I agree with the above. So many of the farmers or vets just keep sticking the animal with little consideration for the irritation or pain caused. Thank you to this vet.
Fantasztikus, Csodálatos, minden elismerésem az orvos szaktudása ért,,Remek, csodálatra való munkát végzett, a szegény állaton, Emberséges, lelkiismeretes állt a dolgokhoz,, több filmet láttam,,de ilyen nagy odafigyeléssel, érzékkel amit csinált,,, szóval lenyűgözött, Csodálatos, Gratulálok, Köszönöm szépen hogy láthattam ezt a videót Üdvözletemet küldöm Magyarországról Rózsika néni 👍👍👏👏🌿🌹🕊️🇭🇺👵
I just love seeing that this vet is passionate about the animal and makes sure that they feel the least pain and that just lancing things doesn't mean it will heal. This vet removed huge amounts of debris and clean it throughout.
Poor baby must have had so much pain🥹she’ll sleep well tonight!! The vet was amazing! He was kind to the cow!! Better than some human docs. God bless him
I come Back to this video like at least every other month and watch it like 371 times. I’d expect way more views in 6 years. This is like the golden video that made me watch videos like this. One day RU-vid was like here watch this and I was just like ‘okay’ and never stopped
Hey guys, good vet huh?? He has a heart, numbed the girl n she stands there with no problem n believe me he is working hard. Thans Doc, you are the best!!
l don't live on a farm or have livestock, but if I did you would be the vet I would have. Thank you for giving pain meds before doing the surgery. Some poor animals are so abused when they are getting medical help Look at the way those.poor donkeys are treated. It will make you cry. Thank you for your goodness.
Great job removing the abscess! Loved the music as well! I usually don't like music with a video of this kind, but this music was great! Wish you had listed who it was...
My God!!! That has to be the worst abscess I've seen so far in any of your cows, or anywhere else on the internet! However, it was probably the best video by far. This doctor takes such good care of the animals he treats. I have a lot of respect and admiration for him. I do wonder though what those huge clots are from? Does it mean the wound is getting better, or worse? Is it a sign of infection? Or does it mean the abscess has been there a very long time? Keebovet - if you could please answer this question. Have asked it many times before on your videos but never get a response???
It's just a sac that grows around the pus. It usually comes out in a lot smaller chunks. I don't think I've ever seen it come out in that big of a chunk.
@@myralawson4543 Yeah...I had been wondering if that abscess had been in that cow for quite a long time. I guess that now I know!!! Why in this WORLD would a farmer let ANY of his animals get to that point???! I am sure that the vet told the farmer to NOT let any of his animals get in that chronic of a condition. That cow HAD to have been suffering for some time.
@@debraweaver6308 from the way it looked in the beginning I think it was lanced and drained but it never healed completely. The incision closed up and it began to abscess again. Either way this farmer knew he had a sick cow and didn’t seem to keep his eye out for it. That’s bad! I have to wonder if he was milking this cow and if so what did he do with the milk? I know I don’t want any of it!!
This cow luckily is in very good hands. I’m hoping everyone is ok now. I love cows and hate to see them suffer, they are such sweet animals. Brilliant job by a very caring Doctor. 👏👏👏🥰🥰
I love this vet.. he is amazing and cares about the animals. I watch alot of his videos and I see him sedate the cow before he starts anything. The cow is calm and and in good hands with this vet.
