Your item at 3:15 appears to be a 'Toe Tap' AKA Toe Plate. These were used to protect the toes of boots and shoes from wear. If you check out the front side you might see a date, I believe this is a patent date. Some are not dated or have had the date wear off doing it's job. The dated ones that I have seem to all be dated 1858, some are June and others are July. Congrats on the find! Many of these were used by Soldiers during the Civil War. ;-)

Thanks E. The biggest complaint I've gotten is just that so I'll keep working on it. Got back out there today and no spoilers but it was another epic hunt.
