But half a season out with bone spurs in both feet in '88', and all of "89' with a broken back thanks to undercover Laker/Celtic teammate Brian Shaw undercut him in Summer Practice. My favorite thing about LB highlights is the fact that he rarely made them solo. The coolest plays in this vid were the ones that showed the Celtic's elite level unit cohesion and coordination. The team cooperation was so perfect that they could basically work out improvised plays in game without looking at each other. Like the fact that those guys could even read and react to an unpredictable player like Larry Bird, and in time to actually score?? It boggles the mind, and it's really cool to watch.

Bird is one of the “older generation” that could NO doubt still be a superstar in ANY era of basketball. This dude was the real deal

Looks like he's that guy who telegraphs where all the players are. This is top level passing and scoring.

No weaknesses in his game would excel in any era as long as he’s healthy

He would do even better now because sports medicine has advanced so much he would've definitely been more healthy and played longer

Larry Bird was the greatest and is still the number one player ever in the NBA with the different things he was able to do sure there was somebody better at one thing and excelled and you might find somebody who did something great one other thing Bird he did it all you couldn't stop it. Nobody could stop it ,awesome to watch that was the greatest of basketball that I've seen at age 71 so far in professional basketball
