"You don't understand. You just solved the entire case. You just revolutionized the entire history of police training, I mean all these years at the academy studying human character, psyche of the terrorist, fingerprint analysis, all the courses that I've taken in surveillance, hostage negotiation, and criminal psychology, when all I had to do is just drive around the neighborhood, and point my finger at the house and say "THE BAD GUYS ARE IN THERE!"" Man I remember this movie back when it first came out. I was 8 when this movie came out and was a big part of my Arnold childhood fandom. I even remember Burger King even had a these animation cup things where it had this grid look on it but when you put this sleeve around it and moved it around it would show off a few seconds part of the movie. Well I think that's what it did. One a couple of my favorite scenes is when Arnold meets Arnold and was like "you're one of the best celebrity lookalikes I've ever seen". The other is when Danny sees Robert Patrick's T-1,000 cop.

I like this movie but I don't love it. I agree it's too long and I think while making it they got a little too involved in actually making a Jack Slater movie. I mean I LOVE all the cameos and meta homages to classic movie tropes but they could have done all that and still cut a lot of the Jack Slater movie out. As the audience, we *know* the "real" movie is taking place with Danny in New York. There are no real consequences to anything that happens while in Jack Slater IV. No real danger. So trim that part down but leave in the cameos and nods to tropes and I think we'd have much tighter movie. Heck yeah I used to sneak into movies. I did that all the time...when I was in my 20's. They built a 14 screen multiplex walking distance from my home. I'd pick usually a weekday and go around noon. Pay admission for the first movie and stay and watch 1 or 2 more. No one cared. However, one time I tried that shit on a Friday night and they threw me out. So I never did it at times like those anymore. Even relatively recently, a few years ago my dad and I went to see Creed and then snuck in and saw Spectre. Best Regards!

My favourite trick was to have one the gang but a ticket and let us all in via the fire exit. And this was back in the day when two movies were shown for the price of one. In Britain R movies are rated as X films and we did the same as you but hid the toilets (restrooms). The ability to do all these things became easier if it was late into its run weeks later. Sadly in all but the grandest/historical of Cinemas the balcony experience has given way to the 'pack 'em in' multiplex studios. Or even worse turned into snooker/poole places or Wetherspoon pubs etc under the pressure of the VHS player/recorder boom back in the late 1970s into the1980s.

Everything else will fit in your jacket pockets. I will say my friends and I got into rated R films all the time because my Mom would buy our tickets. My Mom was super cool by the way. Yeah, SO many people went into this movie not knowing what to expect and ended up hating it, though I've known a lot who watched it again later with that understanding and grew to love it. One of the other great things about the movie is the soundtrack. As I recall, Arnold was in the video for the AC/DC song in it, and got to dress up in the Angus Young schoolboy outfit. I only went into a movie without paying for it once, and it wasn't my idea - I was there with some friends who were friends with an employee at the theater and she just let us in. People crap on this movie because they don’t know what it is or what to expect. It’s an over the top parody of action movies with the biggest action movie star. I love it!

I love this movie. When they bump into the other two Terminators at the Police station I was laughing so bad.

I always thought some of the special effects were supposed to look a bit janky. Like when the bicycle lands on the roof. It looks so funny and makes me laugh every time, you'd lose that moment if it was a more convincing effect.

Stallone as the Terminator elicited an embarrassing vocal, "NO WAY!" from me in the theater. Still waiting for "Hamlet" with Slater to come out.

I will always love this film. The magic of the movies personified. Why it has never gotten a lot of love has always baffled me.

I love all the references, the one liners, the meta jokes and everything, but I think what I love the most is the real world stuff. the only critique i would have is i wished they had gone further with that. maybe a few extra scene of subversion, or realistic action scenes. but overall i agree with most here saying its underrated. i remember all the flack it got originally. glad people have more appreciation for it now.
