Brenda , my compliments to You for your wonderful interview with Jason Rutledge who has dedicated his life to the introduction of the Suffolk Punch Horse to the U.S.A.. It was heart warming for an old horseman like myself to hear Mr. Rutledge relate the story of his encounter of the Suffolk Punch Horse in England . It was also great to hear that Mr. Rutledge imported Baron, Earl and Duke's Sire from England and introduced you and Jim to the Suffolk Punch Horse. Baron, Duke and Earl are prime example of good natured, hard working young horses. Best regards To You Both.

Nice seeing how they hitch up all those mules. Love the big ears! Looked like Belgian x big Jack donkey judging by the color. Great to hear that Baron, Duke and Earl’s granddaddy was from England!

Thank you Jim and Brenda! I love hearing Jason Rutledge talk about the Suffolks and its beginning here in the US. I remember seeing old photographs of the Suffolks in UK in a book. Wished I kept it.

Best video of the trip! Loved hearing your interview with the Suffolk Punch promoter fellow (apologies for not recalling his name as he was really interesting) - and that eight mule hitch was spectacular- so cool to see how they do the hitching! And that team is absolutely gorgeous! What a great trip! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have been surprised seeing mules, I grew up in the south and we visited a Mennonite community many times and was always told they didn’t use mules because they were cross breed animals. I really enjoyed the horse progress days.

Thanks for taking us on Progress Days with you. Videos were great. 🙌🏼Can’t believe the amount of people there! Is this one of the biggest attendance? Seeing all the different new equipment being pulled by horses was cool. Very educational! 🤠🇨🇦

❤ What Great few day's you have shared with us through your lens, as I stated before. I've never met you folks, but from growing up in the Aderondacks and now living in Southwest, Florida you bring a piece of home to me everytime I watch. I'm so blessed to have stubbled onto your channel, and met such humble folks through my screen. God Bless all of you and your animals.

Back in the late 60's, it was my job to run the hay crimper after my Step-Dad mowed the hay down with a 7-foot New Idea sickle mower. In the early 70's, we upgraded to a John Deere 12 foot haybine that used a sickle bar to cut the hay and then would crimp the hay all in one pass. But we used tractors instead of horses.

I have thoroughly enjoyed Horse Progress Days! I loved hearing Jason Rutledge talking about the Suffolk Punch breed. I'd never heard of the breed until Jim got Duke and Earl. Now I'll have to say it's my favorite draft horse breed! That 8-mule hitch was impressive. Those mules were gorgeous too! I've always had a soft spot for mules! Thank you, Brenda, for all the work you did to video the daily events for us to enjoy!!!👍 Very much appreciated!

Loved seeing Jim on the Amish PA channel! The harness set-up on the eight mules was wild. It didn't look like it would work going downhill. Chains and boards? Who knew?

What a commitment to take time off from the farm and driving all the way to Lancaster PA to take part in Horse Progress days. Brenda put forth a tremendous effort in taking videos, all of which were excellent. I am grateful. One question I have which maybe Jim could answer for me. When I look at the eight mule hitch on the big wagon hauling the big tulip logs, what holds the wagon back on a hill?

At the end there when those people riding left the arena those horses really took off. I wonder how many of the riders really wanted to go that fast lol. A few did peel off.

PG here, I share the parking lot all social media.WoW Brenda you must have had your video on contant play! Thank You for all the videos.I saw Skippy on Abby's channel! I have watched lot of horses auctions. Mostly the Amish, Mennonites. People have to return to horses for our health and happiness. Any technology, mchines makes all people ill. It isn't natural. I ditto the 5 or 6 comments below.

biggest lesson I've learned from this is eventually Jim will have the ability to constantly create a 4 hitch team and he could get bigger mower and plow equipment to cover twice as much ground per movement. Obviously he couldn't get more efficient in the woods.
@HensOnly
@HensOnly Месяц назад
He could be efficient when he trade teams of two often in the woods.

Horses pulling a wagon, carrying a diesel, driving a PTO, powering a mower. As an engineer, I don't know whether to laugh or applaud.

What's the outlay compared with a tractor? How versatile are the horses and machines? I just watched Jeremy Clarkson make diddly squat farming 1000 acres with modern machines and contractors at Diddly Squat Farm How well are the Armish doing in comparison? Looks like horse progress to me

@@donbrutcher4501figure out the difference in outlay and fuel consumption. I know of one man that has both. The engine running the mower uses about 1/6 th the amount if fuel as a tractor and mowco.
