◼︎On my first day back in Athens, I had to explore the beautiful city. This video starts in Monastiraki Square and then I somehow ended up going up near Acropolis to see the view of the city. Afterward, I headed back to Monastiriaki Square to have a delicious Souvlaki dinner at the Greco's project restaurant.

Came across your vlog and couldn't be happier to hear that you love Athens and the hospitality of the Greek people. I am an American but my father was born in northern Greece and traveled to Greece last summer for 3 weeks to visit relatives. This was my 3rd trip. I had a wonderful time and loved all the street food in Athens. Try to visit some islands. I also went to Thessaloniki. Another city that has great food and culture. OPA!!!

I love the fact that you are dipping the chicken in the yellow sauce and the pork in the tzatziki sauce. You have adopted Greek table manners. At 19:12 this is 100% the way to eat it. Also at 20:08 you are referring to pastitsio, you should have eaten it with a side salad (tomato, cucumber, onion, olive oil), a piece of bread and a small piece of feta cheese, this is the perfect combination for pastitsio. Russian people and people who live in very cold countries in general are eating pasta with rice and potatoes together in one dish, in Greece we eat more lightly.

I think for you to feel the full extend of our hospitality / food / culture / natural beauties / people etc you should try sometime and visit places around greece with some friends from greece if u have ,so they can move you around. there are so many to discover in this country apart from the big cities like athens and thessaloniki. and dont worry about how to eat souvlaki my friend , there is not really a right or wrong way, just enjoy . even us greeks eat it differently from place to place. hope u have a good stay while ur here brother!

The food is good because we are strict with the food here in Greece. If the quality is not good, the restaurant doesn't survive. The truth is that our wages are low and we can't afford to eat low quality food.

Sigrou Fix and Veikou are streets that connect at some point they’re very close to the Acropolis and they have tons of restaurants and cafes with really great unique modern Greek food! The next generation of Greek chefs are really creating something special with their traditional ingredients but incredible modern takes on flavours and presentations! Hope you make it to those streets that area next time you’re in Athens! And you can walk to so many great sites from there!

Also those places stay open really late so you won’t have trouble finding food at 10pm and it’s lots of Greek family and friends out enjoying a meal and life in those streets some of which are pedestrian I think Sigrou Fix is pedestrian for many blocks

I enjoyed your vlogs, it's like hanging out with you, i bing watched your videos, the Balkan markets were fun too. Your Athens videos brought back memories from a special time of my life, when I lived there for 2-3 years, i like the feeling of being there too. And i was also so many times on this Monastiraki square when i was new in Athens 😃. I love the national Garden, the Acropolis Museum, kinda the Niarchos Center and Park Area for a walk down to the marinas and the boats and many other places, much to explore in this city, ill return for sure. You know what i realize everytime when iam in greece or other south european countries? They are still living and enjoying their lives! Every lunch, every dinner and every evening/night is a celebration and a blessing. iam born and raised in germany and here is everyday like the other just work and sleep, everyone is depressed from their life. Especially after around 2015 it went even worse, here is no nightlife no partying at all anymore not even in the big cities! the only exception is maybe berlin, but every other city is sleeping. i dont see greece with glamour eyes i know to live there is something else than holiday, but its just the truth!

souvlaki can be eaten 1. the way you did it but with bread with one bite 2. you can take all the meat off the stick and put it over the bread and wrap a sandwich
