Excellent info and video. There are a LOT of us out here that need GVM and Brake upgrades for our 80 Series, 100 Series and 105 Series vehicles. For most of these are keeper cars for LIFE as you just can't buy for any $$$ as good a vehicle new from manufactures these days, so its worth investing in the older LandCruisers. So yes finding Brake, Axel and GVM upgrades that we NEED is excellent and great to see some companies understand this.
Cheers mate, yep mine will stay with me and probably outlast me ha.. I just got the 200 series brakes, and front diff housing for 4.2T GVM done yesterday should have video finished tomorrow about it. Massive difference in braking.
the Cruiser looks great Beanie, the 4-2 t GVM upgrade is the one to get, these Cruisers loaded up always weigh more than you think and the 4-2t upgrade will do job
Top job cobber, with your water outlet an inlet, I'm down in Melbourne with my 105, love to get to West Aus one day soon 😎 GVM to 4.2 nice, I have3.7 GVM, which is suffice for my needs 👍
Cheers mate, yeh I really should weigh the Cruiser fully loaded to see where I'm at, with that new sub tank in its put a fair bit of weight on it, and run a fair bit of gear inside.. just assuming I will need the 4.2T
@blissniques you will be around 3500-3600kg 4.2t gvm is insanely high for these. I have a 105 setup with all the mods you have, with rear bar 150 litre sub tank. full interior custom fit out, m57 and zf6 swap. And mine weighs 3080kg pretty much empty on fuel. I have 3680kg gvm and I can't hit it fully loaded 😮
Yeh nice yeh we do carry a fair bit of gear inside, even a 2.8m boat with 6hp yammy, and sometimes we take our bigger boat along as well which is why I'm just going to go overkill with it, then I don't have to worry about anything.
Mate 4.2t GVM is huge???? Assuming you need to do diff bracing also. Is that because that is your weights loaded? I did a 3.5t GVM on my fte 105 so we can tow the caravan - must admit would have loved an extra 200kg but it was the only engineered off the shelf upgrade I could find in WA last year except for packard which is pricey and time consuming.
Yeh mate its going to cost me a packet, but I'd rather go overkill with it all, Packard is who I'm going through.. that new sub tank is where all the weight is 120l fuel 55l of water plus the tank itself adds up pretty quick. Then all the gear inside, boat and all.. just thought I'd go biggest GVM I can get, anything happens 1 less thing the insurance mob can't try do me out of..
If Toyota put the V8 and the FTE's in the 105's it would of been game over, would of been no need to produce another Landcruiser again ha.. always been so close of producing the perfect driveline 4x4 setups.. even the 79's with the leaf springs 🤷
Hey beanie, how do find the new led driving lights at night ? I thinking of putting the same lights on my 70 series, what are your thoughts. Thanks Jamie
