By "service" what exactly are you asking? This scan tool will display all live data, on all modules in any given vehicle. This scan tool will also give you the ability to access any special functions or actuation tests (bidirectional control items) that the vehicle manufacturer has programed into the vehicle's computer from the factory. If any of those live data PIDS, special functions, or actuation tests are related to the trailer brake, or traction control system then yes, you will have that ability. Finding those specific controls requires that you be looking in the correct module. For example, wheel speed sensor live data, and ABS brake bleeding procedures (special functions) are usually located int he ABS brake module. If you didn't know that, and you weren't familiar with how modern scan tools work, it may take awhile to find functions and features you're looking for, if they even exists at all. (depending on the specific vehicle that you're plugged into at any give time) Keep in mind, it's the computer in the vehicle that dictates what can and cannot be performed by a scan tool, and what features and functions are available. Every year/make/model of vehicle is programmed differently and therefore every time you plug into a different vehicle, all your menu options will be different from the last vehicle that you serviced. Sure, some standard things are the same on every car like water temp, engine RPM, fuel pressure, etc, etc... but most other PIDs and functions will be worded differently and found under various menus items. There is a small learning curve with a modern scan tool but it's fairly intuitive so it's not much of an issue for most people. So, after that long winded reply, the direct answer to your specific question is.... It's depends 100% on the year/make/model of the vehicle your asking about. I hope this helps. Yes I think that answered my question. I’ve been wrenching on cars for 40 years, but I’ve never used a modern scanner. I’ve got a 2019 Silverado 3500HD, it’s recently out of warranty, and it’s having stable track service light issues. I just want to get the right scanner so I can deal with this and anything else that might come up. I was looking at the 3500HD version and other HD versions, but that seems to have large diesels and heavy equipment and stuff also, I don’t need that. It was difficult to established that the heavy duty street trucks with diesels (2500HD/3500HD, F250/F350) didn’t need a HD scanner, they seem to be covered by the regular scanners. Thanks for the quick response, every timer I think I picked the scanner I think maybe this other one would be better 😜. If it wasn’t for RU-vidrs scanning ford F250s and 2500HDs in there videos with non HD scanners I would still be wondering.

I rarely work on diesel trucks but I can tell you this..... If the truck manufacturer has included the ability for a scan tool to reset such settings in the vehicle's computer, then this scan tool should be able to command those setting/resets/etc... No scan tool is magic. Scan tools aren't actually "doing" anything. Scan tools simply allow the human user to send command for features/functions/resets that are already programmed into the vehicles computer. For example: If you looking to reset "X" sensor, but the manufacturer did NOT include that ability in the factory software, then no scan tool on earth will be able to command that particular reset. A scan tool can not command something that does not exist in the vehicles software. So, again.... if the setting and resets are available on the specific vehicle that you have in mind, then yes, this scan tool "SHOULD" be able to do those things. This is a full bidirectional scan tool. Any true "full bidirectional" scan tool should be able to command any pre-programmed feature (from the factory) on just about any modern vehicle. I hope my answer makes sense. Sometimes I'm not the greatest at explaining things with typed words. Thanks for the question.

@SlipFitGarage okay thank you. Just asking because I've worked with alot of bosch and snap on computers and I've had a few of each fail to reset adblue counters and other such functions before. If you had to rate it out of 10 would you say it's a decent scanner ?

@@ItsJustLuke656 Well, no scan tool brand is perfect..... not only does the vehicle need to have the specific capability that you're looking for, but it ALSO has to be programmed into the scan tool software..... and some features and functions can get overlooked and not included on some scan tools. This can happen with ANY brand of tool, while working on any brand of vehicle. The only way I could verify that the specific function that you are looking for would be for me to plug into the exact same make/model that you're asking about and verify that function with own eyes..... and unfortunately I do not have any diesel trucks available for me to plug into. Yes, this is a very decent tool. A LOT of guys swear by the Launch line of scan tools. I have used the one in this video on a few cars and I have been very impressed with it. I Am personally an Autel guy, but that is only because I am most familiar with them.... not because they are any better than any other brand. The Launch X431 series of tools in one of the best selling scan tool in the world as far as I know. They are great scan tools. And the good news is.... if you buy it from Amazon, and it doesn't do what you expect it to do for you, their return policy is very good. 🙂

It didn't feel any slower than Autel, to me anyway. I'm still an Autel guy.... but if Autel disappeared and all I had was this Launch tool, I'd still be perfectly happy.
