They should focus on one thing at a time. Automatic folding itself is a hard problem

you should do a robot to get my cat hair out of my clothes

It's $16K, so no not the price of a new car, but still pretty expensive.

It didn’t fold anything

It took over 5mins to fold a single piece of laundry. The idea was that it would fold a load while you sleep.

1:30 it’s say 375 valuable days in our lives, surely they mean 365
@SoldierMed68W
@SoldierMed68W 3 года назад
Just from context it sounds like they’re referencing some kind of generic statistic that a person spends 375 days of their life folding laundry

It isn’t about how many “days” you spent or not spend on folding but it is about the “lazy” people which i think there are alot of people that doesn’t want to do that “easy” work, am i wrong?

@@kristijanmaksimovic3758 - There's a good book you need to read called "Lazy people don't exist". Laziness is a catch-all term used against people who have conditions or whose brains are evolved differently (such as neurodivergent people). There are procrastinators who shift focus on other tasks, there are burnt-out people (due to overcommiting to tasks), people who experience perfection paralysis or decision paralysis, those who experience sensory overload or are easily overstimulated, people with autoimmune diseases, people with arthritis or joint issues, the elderly... Let's not forget disabled people - such as those who are blind or low-vision, those with depression or anxiety, those with narcolepsy or chronic fatigue, those with time-blindness or sluggish cognitive tempo, those whose brains lack executive function, etc. Often those accused of being lazy are the busiest people who are either drained of energy or time. A machine like this can help them manage their day better.

@@kristijanmaksimovic3758 - Also keep in mind, the world is built for "early birds", despite there having been an evolutionary benefit for some of us to be alert nocturnally & do our most energizing work when others are asleep. People who are exhausted during daytime and need caffeine in the morning are likely "night owls" forced to fight against their natural circadian rhythm. Another evolutionary benefit is found in those of us that have ADHD and are easily distracted/don't complete tasks, which sucks in a neurotypical world - yet research (which studied jungle tribes) found that those with ADHD symptoms were most likely to survive in the wild bc of environmental hyper-awareness of distracting noises that turned out to be threats. So let's stop calling people who have health barriers, who are overworked, or whose minds are built differently "lazy". Smart robots aren't just about convenience, they ensure that the ADA standards of Accessibility are met for many disabled people, as well as accommodating the elderly.

Bullshit when I heard they can separate cloths by person. One thing at a time.
@laurenceperkins7468

Wouldn't be that hard since it's using image analysis. Could split by size, or have it memorize which items are for which person the first time they're seen, or use some unobtrusive identifying mark. That second one ties in with it keeping a database of clothing items it has folded recently and displaying the list in the app like was mentioned in the spiel.
