A way easier way to wash your leeks is to just peel them apart 1 by1 and wash them that way! Then slice them all washed. That way you aren’t soaking/washing away the onion flavor that comes out when you chop them.
There is something about leeks that make everything you use them in taste richer and more elegant. This pot pie looks absolutely amazing and I WILL be making it VERY SOON!!! It will take a little longer but well worth the time. Thank you, Laura! Your recipes ALWAYS come out perfect!! ❤
Your leek cleaning method is actually so good! Most people cut the ends to open it and rinse under water. Im planning on making potato and leek soup soon and going to use your method!
Our family tradition is turkey pot pie with all left overs for dinner the day after Thanksgiving. I'm going to make this recipe in addition. Thank you.
Delicious 😋. I will have a lot of turkey after the Saturday! We will celebrate thanksgiving it was already the October 10 but I am the last for some reason on the calendar to everyone come over here! Anyway this will be perfect !
Laura...try a bit of white port. I learned this at a French cooking class. VERY YUMMY with chicken leeks, and cream. I think you'll enjoy it. Let me know!
Hey there just got here after founding a envelope in my car with a note talking about your channel. Whoever left them on everyone's car in my neighborhood that was pretty good advertising!
So funny..... Tuesday night I watched your Potatoes and leek soup video from WAY BACK, as I had leeks that I needed to use. AND😏 today I see you doing this!!!
OMG, that looks delicious, and I'm definitely going to try it, (after trying your hamburger helper recipe), these sorts meals are my favourite - one pot - and little faff. Yum yum. From UK. X
i know i’m jumping the gun, but i think i’ll try this with turkey after thanksgiving! also the pinching tip is great, i’m always shredding chicken into dishes and i understand what you mean. oooo why am i watching this at 2am i’m so hungry 😭😭😭 edit: wait i can’t really have heavy cream, never mind i guess 😔
You can substitute the heavy cream for an alternative. Maybe a soy or an oat based cooking cream would work for you or even something like a cashew cream.
@@susnorth40 I tie them with a bit of kitchen string so I can fish them out. Sometimes I freeze and use later for a home made stock. They impart a great leek flavor. Grew up with Depression era parents who wasted nothing.
