just got a pair of twin HS4's from quantum. Guy is a treasure for anyone in the US needing harder to find triumph parts

I can see why you'd be nervous about fitting those bearings. But it looks like nice smooth movement when you spun it a bit. Great work.

Doubt hat stud is designed to hold the filter. It can use some thread sealant/gasket goop so it doesn't weep/leak.

I agree. It just happened to conveniently be in the way of the filter.

I couldn’t find one specific for the OD but I did find a very suitable replacement at ACE.
