When i wrestle i used to use the regular firemen, but about 20 years i started showing a firemen similar to this one. I had a few girls on the team and they could not do the regular firemen, so i show then to penetrate in deep, have a tight grip on the tricep and snake grip around the other leg and at the same time pull hard on the arm and leg in a downward motion. They became very succesful with this firemen including the guys. I did not learn it from anyone, but now I see other people doing it like this. I thought i invented it, but i guess not.
Another great video as always. Can you make a video about Austin O'Connor front headlock move series?? I feel like he’s very underrated and not talked about enough.
@earnyourgoldmedal My offseason and in season coach don't like wrestling off knees like Michael mcgee but I feel like I've been getting pretty good at it could I get the same results by just wrestling in a very low stance im 113 so im use to low stance thank you!
I recently got into wrestling and I really love all your videos, but theres so many techniques I really don't understand what to prioritize. If you could pick a series or move both offense and defense what would you choose for a beginner to get really good at? I don't know if this is a hard question, but any answer I would be very appreciative for! Thank you.
probably the basics, like sprawl, shoot, hand fighting and then you can work it up by looking at what you feel comfortable of(ex:you learn how to double leg takedown, high c and single leg. but you feel most comfortable at double, so it's better to drill more off double but you still gonna drill those others) and always listen to your coach
Sprawl to go-behind; getting sprawled on by a long legged opponent sucks, their balance is unshakable. Heavy handfighting. You're taller so use your height to pressure their posture and make them tired or take bad shots. Also, if your hands are big, your grips will be stickier and harder to break. Ankle pick. Inside reach singles. Crotch lifts. Your long arms can give you access to positions that shorter guys can't achieve until they are much closer. Saitiev was very tall. He used a lot of inside reach attacks to take advantage of his reach. He was also very good on countering, thanks to his sprawl and his crotch lift and also other crazy, crazy stuff. Cael Sanderson wasn't necessarily super tall but he had long arms. He was excellent at dominating the opponent's posture with his handfighting and reaching for those ankle picks. If you're tall, getting injured more might be an issue, so take care.
It's all about the left hand grip. It's a VICE GRIP for him. He makes it look so easy. Does the grip have to be up high on the tricep? He has a low center of gravity as well. He is actuall giving the opponents left knee a hipcheck.
@@adil7845 it's a hand tool that is stronger than a pair of pliers. There is a lever on it that causes it to click in place so it's super tight. Spencer is known for his grip strength
