My goal for this channel is to be the biggest online resource for middle school and high school wrestlers to improve their wrestling ability. I would also love to be knowledgeable enough to give collegiate athletes some new ideas. I will be doing breakdown videos on both particular moves and particular athletes. Thank you and enjoy!
I haven't been wrestling for 5 years but I now can see how these kids are becoming so great . We really did have anything like these breakdowns let alone 10 years ago . Especially in depth .
I call this the superman roll. I think it came from Bret Maughn of NDSU. You can see the one NDSU guy do it 100% correctly. All the others isn't 100% right but it still works if they like the leg in. Key to not get superman rolled is to not figure four or lock the leg down. You need to keep the foot to the mat so it doesn't pull you with the roll. 100% works if they trying to lock the leg down. I do it none stop to anyone who puts a leg in. Robb did a really good one too. Never seen it down with the hand held but he had to do that since the leg wasn't locked in. No one ever did that so always cool to see new counters to old tricks. I mean Robb got that hand in a position about kick move would work. Surprised he was able to get it there so easy.
To me this was never a Judo concept. It was Just wrestling. Been doing this move since the 70's in wrestling. I took judo later in life. You do know that their are throws in wrestling.
Would this be a good alternative for shorter guys to hit the fireman’s? I try to hit it on taller guys but they always kind of drape over me and starting trying to run cradles
Thank you so much for your work, brotha. All the knowledge helps me keep up after some years away from the game. I love how you focus on low risk, high percentage stuff. Having tricks like this in your tool belt is vital for conserving your energy in a tournament.
This was seriously helpful. Came to RU-vid looking for options on how to deal with posting on the face during 2:1. This breakdown (with the evidence) shows uchi mata as a really good option - thanks for it!
One thing I noticed with this is a lot of these shots they knee drop and then wait for their opponent to start to move back or posture up and then they hit the actual shot. It’s really easy to see in the example at 3:56 that’s where this strategy really clicked for me.
