Another compliment here. I really like how you pronounce things clearly, specify the tone, and repeat numerous times. the best youtube channel for me for learning Thai effectively🙏😊
Jack, I really love your videos. I went to Thailand this January and I'll going back at July and I hope I can communicate better in Thai. And I like you say how to pronounce the words right but you also say how Thai people normally pronounce them. Coz if we only learn the formal way, when we are talking with Thai people, a lot of things might be confusing. Thanks a lot!
I’m learning Thai and I’m so happy I found your channel. I will make Thailand my new house so I need speak the language. Your videos are so good I just love how you explain everything. Thanks 😊
I have to say I fully agree with all the compliments below. Your demeanor and teaching methods are great! I have studied many languages and am just beginning Thai. I have an idea I would like to discuss with you I am frequently in Bangkok. I would love to discuss my idea with you if you have any interest.
YOU are such a talented teacher !!! Mother of study is repeating and you do this for us. Plus you show with your finger the intonations. That's sooo good !!! Keep on the great work. Big sucsess garanteed !!! Cheers from germany
Of course! They can be formal and informal. They are spoken language. You can commonly use these sentences to speak both in formal and informal situations.
I have difficulty with the gesture for the falling tone. Every time Jack illustrates it he rises his finger in an arc before falling - so it must be a rising falling tone I guess?
Yes, the falling tone is similar to the Chinese pinyin 4th sound. The way I remember it personally is actually the opposite of falling, it is more like a high tone. The main sound is a high tone, but it is not rising, it is like high right away. Think of it like an exclamation mark, like if you were to shout 'Hey!'. I personally also don't find it intuitive to think of this tone as a 'falling' tone because the main sound is a high exclamation mark kind of tone. But I think I see why they call it falling tone because to fall you first need to begin from a higher place. I still prefer my own way of seeing it though. Hope this helps!
I see four or five people doing videos on teaching Thai. You my favorite! I love the way you teach and reinforce old lessons. Keep doing it and I keep watching 555
สวัสดีครับ Hello, I don't know much about Thai language schools in Bangkok, but check out the AUA Thai Program at Chumchuri Square office building. I saw many foreigners go to study there.
