A big part of adulting is spending time for yourself I imagine. When as a child all I wanted is to be surrounded by friends but I wasn't, and now I crave for the silence and alone time and need to evaluate decisions relating other people. Big relate and you put it in such a comfortable way :)

I also visited Beijing, which is my childhood home where I grew up until 10 years old, this past summer. This was the first time I was able to visit in 5 or so years, so the experience I had this time was quite different from the past because I'm more grown up now. I also felt that I was finally able to get closure for a place so close to my heart! Why say proper goodbye to a place that you've yet to miss, right? Walking into my childhood room was like walking into a museum, and everything in my room became a portal to my life back then, as if they were frozen in time all these years. From reading some of my old journals, I was surprised to learn many things about my younger self that I had even forgotten. And even though I barely have friends back in Beijing, I still feel that it'll be my forever home because of all the memories I associate with it growing up. Now that I'm back in the U.S., I can't help but reminisce the time I spent in Beijing this summer with my family. Thanks for this lovely vlog - it brought back some good memories from when I was there. :)
The new Apartment location seems very familiar to me, which I used to live that area. Please try the Xinfun Road around, like There will be bread & French Butcher,etc. Also there has two local Community market. The Liangma river is closeby as well

I know exactly how you feel at the end, I find it so difficult to think clearly and even be able to know what I want when I'm surrounded by family/friends/my partner..and I'm actually moving to China soon for a few months to improve my Chinese and I'm sooooo excited (and nervous) to be all alone in a new place where I can do whatever I want all the time hehe x
