Learning to POLISH MY PLANE

I'm just finding this video, wow what a transformation. Great work!! Side note, I think watching this just encouraged me to never buy a plane with a polished aluminum finish LOL.

That's just stupid-cool! What a gorgeous classic. As the owner of a polished aircraft I can say the effort is definitely worth it. Once you get it to this level it is not hard to maintain it. I can quick-polish my Zenith 601 XLB is less than 30 minutes and it looks like it's a brand new complete polish. To be fair, I don't polish the underside of my low wing plane. Nicely done video!

Fairly recently discovered your channel. Enjoyed it so far! We just bought a 1959 Piper Comanche 250 and realize... i don't know how to clean/polish an airplane! This video is a great start. Wish you had included a "shopping list" in the description. But I'll figure it out. 😉

What a cool vintage 182, I say vintage out of respect. Really, a very nice example of this model, you've got it polished to a high gloss. Nothing beats these planes for value and performance. Cool deal.

Good stuff. With those skills, you can do your car as well. I like the Milwaukee cordless random orbital polisher. Excellent balance of quality and reasonable price.

Mindy, have you found that the STRAIGHT TAIL has a better slip than the new slanted fins? I have flown both and it seemed to me that the straight tail seemed to fly a heading hands off easier than the slant.

Doesn't alu instantly dull again? it needs a coating to stay shiny.

Beautiful. My wife and I were partners in a '58 182 but it never looked like that. Paint was oxidized and dimpled from a hailstorm but what a plane! Jump door so you could take great pictures from the right seat and flour bombing was very easy. Sadly finances forced us and our partner to sell it and the next owner failed to tie it down one time and a storm came and picked it up and wrapped it around a power pole. Sad ending for a great old plane. Do you still get to se 625CC every now and then? jack
