IT WAS TIME FOR US TO LEAVE MAPUN BY BOAT TO BONGAO, AND WE ENDED UP JUST PASSING BY MALAYSIA...
This is our final day on the island of Mapun. There are rarely boats to Bongao, but we managed to find one available and road it overnight. The journey took roughly 20 hours, and we passed just in-between Philippines and Malaysia waters. Before leaving Mapun, we had a beautiful goodbye... where even turtles showed up! Yup, there are a lot of turtles here in this part of Tawi Tawi. Oh, and as we neared Bongao, dozens of dolphins came out and starting jumping around our boat. What an incredible environment... what a intense adventure and beautiful experience! We are leaving this Philippines island community, but surely will be back!

Thanks for the content. Several years ago I met and married a lady from the PH. We met online. She and I are both USA citizens. I didn't know very much about the people of the Philippines or the culture, so I began viewing RU-vid videos. Luckily I found BecomingFilipino. The things I appreciate about your videos is how well you present the culture through your friendly interaction with the people, and your presentation of the locations you visit. Although we will probably never meet, you feel like family when you appear on my TV. Such is your engaging personality. Congratulations on your recent wedding. Just be careful in some of the remote locations you visit.

Found this channel back in the winter of 2014-15 but hardly commented because it can't be done with a TV remote, and also I am more interested in reading comments. But with a series like this I make the effort to go to the lap top. I also liked the North Philippine adventures and the Dinagat relief efforts. Thank you for all your videos.

I saw many amazing things scuba diving the Philippines when I lived there. Nothing is more beautiful than paired up turtles diving into the deep blue.

I grew up in mapun almost half of my life and now I live in Malaysia with my own family. Missing home so much. Glad u guys enjoyed ur stay in Mapun. Btw kulas and kumar "beng beng" is an Indonesian choco snack and yes once u tried it, it's addictive😅💚 Stay safe u guys. BLESS YOU MORE AND ALWAYS😊🤲

These tiny wooden crafts are safer than steel hulled vessels..if it capsizes..it wont sunk...it will only partially underwater coz it is made of wood

The sight of a bird in the middle of the sea reminds me of the Noah's Ark story. Land is nearby. Yeah, Mapun is really far away, I wish I can throw a line and pull it closer to Mindanao.

Turtle island is a turtle Sanctuary that's why there are lot of turtles there and it is also near tubbataha the best diving in the world and the last of the Six UNESCO heritage sites in the Philippines

Nope..Turtle Islands is far from Tubataha reeg..it is shared by Malaysia and Philippines..it is composed of 9 islands..6 belongs to the philippines..tuabtaha on the other hand is in the mid top of Sulu Sea

@@ReyvenBergado-tf2sc I lived in Turtle islands for 8 years..and it's in tawi tawi..tubataha is in palawan...Tutrtle islands is 7 hours to the south by boat from Mapun..Tubataha is also about 7 hours to the north of Mapun

I remember a trip exactly like this when I was 18 years old and working with a team that built light houses. Gen San to Saranggani. more crowded but exactly like that on top of the boat.

The beaches look pristine but no way in hell I am risking my life in that boat. 21 hrs in a wooden sketchy boat and just sleeping on cardboard mats 😭 I don't know how u do it, Kulas. DOT should be paying u millions for risking your life. But thank you for showing how terribly neglected the southern part of PH is.

@@Bankolito we all know that sabah is part of the philippines but in reality still malaysia claims sabah as of today. however national visitors enter sabah required 90,30,14 days to stay visa free. when you have diplomatic mission you will required visa.
