I've seen a lot of great sports in my lifetime. But, wstching MJ's career in in real time as it happened was by far the most special. Even a great highlight reel doesn't do his skills justice.

I'm 52 years old, and I remember watching him play in college and then in the NBA. I can honestly say, there was not a single week that went by when he was playing (season and playoffs) that he was not on ESPN Sports Center highlights. And there was more than 1 or 2 weeks where he was on it every single night. I saw the other 4 starters on his team get down and feel like they were losing the game and he literally said 'I'm not losing this game.' and he single-handedly willed the team to win. He took over the entire game. More than once. THAT's why he's rated higher than Lebron and Kobe on the all-time list....he did it game after game and season after season, with or without help... AND, if you want to hear about how he shutdown opponents, WHILE torching them, look up the RU-vid video where Kevin Garnett talks about the time he was a rookie and decided to trash-talk MJ.... didn't turn out well...

I love older NBA. If they played in today's NBA, the 90s Knicks would have fouled out in pre-game warmups. The 80s Pistons would in prison for attempted murder.

I watched MJ's career from home in Chicago. No other player in NBA history, (IMO), had the amalgamation of pure skill, work ethic, drive, motivation, creativity, charisma, focus, and killer instinct, that MJeff possessed. He didn't play 20 years. But his peak surpasses all others with ease. MJ is, and always will be, The G.O.A.T. Periodt.

Jordan was a once-in-a-lifetime combination of freakishly naturally gifted and psychotically dedicated and hard-working. Either one of those traits alone would have made him a star in the NBA, but together they made him the GOAT. I don't begrudge anyone who says they like other players more, but Michael Jordan is the best ever, and it's not close.

I went to see Michael twice in two home games in Chicago. His athleticism, his quickness, his court vision and killer instinct was unbelievable. He is truly the G.O.A.T.

The #1 play was so special because that shot was the very last shot he ever took in a Bulls uniform and to go back to back to back to cap off his 6 rings. Forever GOAT of the sport that we call Basketball 🐐

As a Jazz fan MJ broke my heart twice but there is no doubt that he is the 🐐. Back then there was no flopping like LeBron, they were physical and tough. They didn't let injuries stop them or use as an excuse. I miss this old NBA.

As someone who is old enough to have watched a lot of Jordan, Kobe, and Lebron. Jordan was the best of three by far.

Everyone who ever says "LeBron is the GOAT!" ... They're not quite sure what "defense" is. MJ was one of the all-time great defensive players, as well.

The thing you also gotta remember is that it was A LOT more physical back then. He was a battle warrior , an iron horse ! Aside from style , and being ahead of his time , this is what also makes him the greatest NBA player of all time , the adversity he had to overcome with that kind of competition. His competition was heavy and his generation was the greatest generation in NBA History ! It was great watching him play. Bless !

I grew up in that era, Mike made Basketball Great. This new generation has caused me never to watch another game.

There is a reason Kobe was so great he modeled himself after his hero the Goat. Also LBJ doesn't Dont do he dunk contest cause he knows its just another area were he loses to Jordan. LBJ is a Brick by comparison

MJ will ALWAYS be the Greatest. I miss that guy. When you watched him live it was like watching Superman. He was a unbelievable athlete.

Jordan was no slouch in the 3 point shot department having entered the contest during all star weekend. But the bulls of the Jordan era were so well assembled with excellent role players that Jordan didn't need to take 3's regularly. He always drew a double or triple team which opened up other players. Hodges, Paxson, and Kerr were all excellent 3 point shooters. Aside from that, these plays/highlights are mostly about athleticism, which is truly showcased when he would take it inside.

MJ was an absolute pleasure & privilege to witness. I am sad my son could not see in real time, but I will share my films from my library. Every game you had to watch of his because we just knew something special would happen & nobody wanted to miss. From Texas & was so happy to have WGN cover them. What a joy he was & basketball in general in those days.

Physical? Yeah, the 80's and 90's were rough. The pistons of the early 90's were hardcore. I'm still trying to picture Scottie Pippen's dunk on Patrick Ewing nowadays happening without anyone getting ejected.

My favorite was Game 5 of the NBA finals against Utah Jazz. He was so sick he could barely stand. Against advisement he played with a temperature of 103 yet scored 38 points. Sadly, I believe his Dad had just been murdered as well & you could see how hard it weighed on him. There was several times he would croutch down and rest his body with his hand in the floor then pop up ready to go when the play started. I've never, ever seen such dedication & determination. Incredible game!

Thing about Jordan is that his hang time was "longer" because he could adjust after other players were headed back down and make a shot that others wouldn't event try.

This was when watching basketball was fun and watching him was ELECTRIFYING!!! HE IS THE G.O.A.T PERIOD. This highlight reel isn't even 1% of the incredible unexplainable magic he created on the court. You should really watch his series on Netflix. You'll see on there that the "Flu" game he played, it is speculated that the fans of the other team gave him food poisoning so that their team could win the game/championship...did it work....NOPE!!

How LUCKY for those of us that got to watch all this LIVE!!!!! It's one thing to watch a "Highlight" video. But in that type of video, you KNOW that the player will make it. But watching the games LIVE.....the Drama build up...the Pressure...you HOPING your team wins.....and watching Jordan make those shots live is a different World!!!!! Michael was such an icon back than that he made basketball so cool all by himself. I remember that when I was a boy(I'm 33 now) - I Joined basketball practices and I bought his Bulls shirt and a ball with his "Air Jordan" symbol on it and I'm pretty much sure that I'm not the only one who did it.

I remember his flu game. Shit was legendary. I was just a kid but I was also sick with the flu sitting at home in chicago dying lmao watching him play basketball also sick with the flu he was like superman to me that day. I was like tf he out there playing and I feel like death

For instance, #1 was the game winner for his 6th and final title with the Bulls. At the time, we all thought that would be his final basket as a basketball player. It was a perfect end to a legendary career.

You should do the Michael Jordan documentary series "The Last Dance." The reason that was #1 was because it was a shot for the 6th title in a row, game 7. Just the clutch factor.

watching this man play basketball was like watching a painter create a masterpiece, or a composer writing his magnum opus. it was art in the form of basketball.

The number 1 play is that high because it was his last shot as a Chicago bull. That shot was his show ender, the perfect conclusion for his career, until he unretired and played for the wizards, but the shot was legendary nonetheless.

Man watching Michael as a kid was something else, he was doing things people had never imagined were possible every single game.

Im a Spurs fan and I miss the old days so much, i looked forward to watching them play and dominate every night or compete against great teams with Tim Duncan, Manu, and Tony Parker. Now, i still get excited to watch but it just isnt nearly the same anymore :/

I've been an NBA fan since the mid 1970's and coached youth basketball for years. My personal top 5 are: 1. Michael Jordan, 2. Larry Bird, 3. Magic Johnson, 4. Kobe Brant, 5. Julius Irving. I’ve seen everyone over the last 45+ years. IMO, these players had the best BALANCE of FG%, FT%, clutch play, great offense, great defense, makes teammates better, great team play, shares the ball, passing ability, finishing, coachable, high basketball IQ, finds a way to win, has all areas of the basic fundamentals down pat, seeks high % shots first, knows where teammates are on the court at all times, able to score while being fouled, played against tougher competition, played against great defenses. No one today has ALL of these attributes. Not even Lebron, and that he flops and has choked in some key games brings down his value. To me, only Michael Jordan and Larry Bird have ALL of these attributes and are (by far) the most clutch players of all time. Though today's players have a lot of talent, most players lack most of these attributes and no one has all of them. Defense and team play aren’t nearly as good today as in the 80’s/90’s. Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Magic Johnson (by far) are the most clutch players of all time and did it against the best defenses of all time. Great video. You did a good job.

You should watch highlights from the 1992 _USA Dream Team._ It had everyone that was anyone that Olympics. Untouchables. The roster was made up of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen, Chris Mullin, and Christian Laettner.

Glad you got to watch the best of MJ Leo! I was fortunate enough to see him in Dallas against the Mavericks in 1998 which was highlight to remember, as he was retiring that year and it was sold out, so had to pay the scalpers, but was worth it!

Part of what makes Jordan different is his hand size. He has something like the 8th largest hands in NBA history. Larger than most centers. He's 6'6" and his hand size is equal to that of a man that would stand 7'9".

Michael Jordan grew up in Wilmington, NC. Even though he wasn't born here, we claim him as a North Carolinian. He went to college in Chapel Hill, NC. He also has a huge home about 30 minutes from where I stay in a golfing town. It is nothing to see him in that town from time to time. For me, he IS the greatest of all time and we knew it watching him in UNC-Chapel Hill (#tarheel for life)

I grew up watching MJ. I love watching the highlights especially reaction highlights from lbj fans. They now have a small understanding of why some of us don't put lbj in the conversation of the greatest. Michael Jordan is the GOAT.

I lived in Illinois back in 1987. It was fun watching MJ from the early days. Once Pippen got there everything changed. Boy MJ sure could play. That fade away shot was deadly. He sealed the fate of many a good team with that shot. His dunking was great, but that fade away put fear into you.

I loved to watch them.

No one has ever been as exciting to watch play as MJ. For all of his offense he was a hell of a defensive player, he just hustled the whole game.

I am a Lakers fan since '71. Jerry West, Happy Hairston, Gail Goodrich, Jim McMillan, Elgin Baylor and that group were the first I saw of the Lakers at 13 years old. They went into a down cycle for a while until Kareem was traded from Milwaukee. But then came Magic. I'll never forget the playoff game when he played all 5 positions in on game. It was his rivalry with Larry Bird that kept us glued to the television during the 8o's. These two played on teams. This was a big reason that Jordan did not win a title during that time. Until the Bulls built a supporting cast around Michael, he would everything but a title. After the decline of the Celtics and Lakers in the early 9o's, the rise of the Bad Boys in Detroit, and the addition of Scottie Pippen and a few of key players and Phil Jackson as coach, did Michael truly decimate the competition. Jordan is clearly head and shoulders above any single player that ever played. But I love that Magic and Bird played on great teams. He could play and position and play it well. And you are right. It's easier to shoot 3 point shots than wear down your opponents by working them over by going inside. Late in the game they were sitting ducks.

I don't even follow sports. But when I was a kid I was following Michael Jordan. He was super human. EVERYONE watched Michael Jordan back then.

I watched this because I watched your Larry Byrd video. I have never been a big sports fan, but I remember, back in the day, hearing my dad talk about how good Byrd was. What is funny and interesting is that one of the things I remember him saying about him is that he would shoot more 3 pointers, while a lot of other players were dunking all the time. So, that's really funny that you made the comment about how much players today just shoot threes all the time.

I graduated high school with Rip Hamilton who won a championship with the Pistons but was drafted by the Wizards and he got to play with Jordan in Jordan's last year. I was so excited for him. 11:24 is Rip with Jordan. So very, very cool. I loved the whole video but that moment, for me, was epic. Thank you.

True fact: the Detroit Pistons came up with the Jordan rule that was anytime Jordan had the ball and was going to the basket who ever was guarding him was to knock him off his feet before they left the floor. He was not to be given any chance to get himself and the ball in the air. The Pistons were the most aggressive playing team in the NBA at the time and had big guys and were the NBA Champs that season. When the Bulls met the Piston at the eastern conference final they pretty much clipped Jordan's wings in the last game and knocked him around a lot . The Pistons beat the Bulls went to the NBA finals and on to their 2nd NBA title in a row . Now here is what separates Jordon from all the others that season ends he does not go on vacation he takes that frustration of that season and he goes to the gym along with his other team mates. Practicing everyday hard nose in your face bare knuckled basketball. The vary next season the Jordon rule came back to bite the Pistons in the next eastern conference final because Jordan now was able to dish out some punishment himself when they got rough with him he got rough back . They could not knock him off his feet this time. Well Detroit did not win one of those games at the conference against Jordan . The Bulls went on to win 6 NBA Championships and the rest is history.
