Bro the comment section is scary… Watch the video. Too many people are commenting things that I address in the video. The College argument is irrelevant The 3 Point line argument is irrelevant The pace argument is also irrelevant WATCH THE VIDEO
As much as this is a impressive feat I can honestly say outside of 16 finals and even after the first quarter of game 7 I saw it coming he has never done anything that surprised me and that’s surprising in itself he literally did everything we expected him to do years ago with all that being said I still don’t think his peak was higher than Jordan’s but he established what our Goat standard actually is
Im an MJ stan, and still can say that anyone downplaying Lebron achievements (especially all time points) is either stupid or delusional. This is an incredible feat regardless of circumstances.
yea. but it's not cuz lebron is a great scorer. Especially wouldn't be in the 80s 90s or 2000s where you had real defenders and real big men parked in the middle. Lebron would not have come close to the record playing in another era. Just objective. He was good in the 2000s in his prime and pretty good in the early 2010
Barring injury he’ll definitely have that, he’s 38 and already had a birthday this season, so all of next season he will be under 40 and if healthy I don’t see a world where along with the rest of this year that he scores less than 1000 points next year
Not only that, the fact he is probably going to end his career 3rd or 4th in all time assists along with being the number 1 scorer and 8-9th all time steals is amazing.
Ive heard nobody talk about how kareen played with oscar and magic two of the best playmakers ever, or even malone playing with stockton. Lebron did it all as the main guy with the ball in his hands, not just sitting in the post or on pick and rolls.
i rather be amazed with kareem than lebron. Its the circumstances, dedication and hardship that kareem went through to be a lead scorer in a very long time than LJ had.
Thank you so much for including the part about his playmaking, he's not a 'tradional scorer'. He can be, but that's not what's tried for and to be the point leader as a 'pass first' man is simply astounding
LeBron shoots around the same amount of shots as Kareem Kobe malone Jordan. The reason why he is able to rack up assists as well is having the ball in his hands all the time as a ball handler
Like dude already said the 'pass first' thing has always been a lie. He outpaces most volume scorers in volume and others went off ball a lot more even though their passing was proven. Hell always said that if Lebron actually went off ball a lot more throughout his career, he'd probably be the GOAT. The only season he really did so succesfully was his MVP year with the Heat.
He’s not but when he becomes one it’s a sight to see. Like the 2015 finals. I feel he still hold back when put in those situations. Only time I saw him refuse to lose at all costs was down 3-2 to Boston and 3-1 GS
LOW thank you for this video the amount of people trying to discredit and downplay this man making history like this is down right criminal I’m watching one of the greatest player to ever do it and I’m here for it
It's nuts man, we haven't seen a player in the NBA that's had anything close to this level of athleticism or longevity since Wilt Chamberlain, and I'm not sure even Wilt was as non human like! The man is a beast and it's been a pleasure to watch him over the years. The league will miss him greatly when he eventually retires.
@@jodlaa5142 Bro a part of me wishes he plays until he's 45 lmaoo. Even at that age, he could definitely average 20ppg still, and his play making will matter more at that point. It's all a matter if he wants to keep playing ball or not.
@@3SoccerPlayer3 wilt woulda dominated, he is a freak of an athlete and if he had been born 30 years later he would considered the greatest athlete of all time
Most SEASON points scored in NBA history. Bron passed Kareem in most points scored a while a go and it received little to no media attention, which is insane.
For a quick second can we talk about how Kobe averaged 29 with by far the lowest pace. Also I think Lebron is going to end with about 42,000 points and call it a career
I’m not a lebron fan by any means but obviously his career point total is the most impressive in history 😂 dude averaged 27 Ppg for 20 seasons. Lebron really lived up to his expectations
Most points ever, 4 Rings, 4 FMVPs, 4 Regular Season MVPs, top 5 in assists, top 10 in 3-pointers made. AND he's still playing at the highest level at nearly 40 years old. Dude is the GOAT. Smoking crack to think otherwise.
The highest level is winning and getting swept is not that. The NBA is softer than ever do and more players can score easily without playing any defense and that’s what he does since years now.
@@starmorpheus Fans who don’t have LeBron in their top 5 are definitely biased, but MJ is still the GOAT to me and many people’s eyes. I have LeBron at #2. Putting LeBron at 2 or 3 isn’t hating.
This video was fire I literally clicked on it just to save it for later with the intention of not watching it now but I accidentally watch it all and finished it now
You know what this means? Nothing. Was anybody calling Kareem Abdul Jabbar the GOAT when he broke Wilt Chamberlains record? No. A similar deal would be how Emmit Smith is the all time leading rushing yards leader, but nobody ever calls him the best running back in NFL History, and they certainly don't call him a better running back than Barry Sanders or Jim Brown. Nobody even says he is better than Eric Dickerson who had the most rushing yards ever in a entire NFL season. Since when did scoring become a more important statistic than championships. Unlike Kareem who accomplished the record in a win, this happened in a LOSS. He also decided to sit out the next games after that because all he cares about are these achievements that have people worshipping him. As someone who likes the Lakers, they are currently a joke. Lakers fans don't care about Lebron breaking Kareem's record, they care about CHAMPIONSHIPS. As constructed currently, the Lakers have no shot at winning a title so all they can do is celebrate personal stats like this....Its a embarrassment
YOU MY DOG!!! Every point I've made restated politely!! "F Malone/Stockton numbers, hype LeBron numbers" Stockton all time in steals? "He was a trash defender" LeBron passes for assists (not "ball movement)? "So unselfish"
AGAIN I SAY: Mad at non call against Boston cos "trying to win" But happy to lose to OKC cos "historic moment" And fine avoiding his ONE home game vs Giannis ALLEGEDLY this is "still playing at an MVP level".... SADNESS!!!
It's perimeter oriented style of play now not too many see the use of the sky hook anymore. I wish someone would bring it back just to show how dominant it can be but no one is practicing it enough to use it efficiently and effectively.
@@dmpdagamer I think it was be great for an automatic point if 2 is needed and no lanes are open. I think someone who wants to stand out as upcoming talent they will use it along with shooting 3s
Great overall video but if i have one critique it’d be that you made a video a few years ago when talking about defense that in the modern day pace isn’t as correlated to scoring as it used to be due to the three point revolution. I mean it’s still correlated but even with a slower pace the average ppg will be higher due to three pointers. Insane accomplishment by lebron regardless of what anyone says.
Yeah, scoring isn’t correlated to pace as much as it once was however, it’s still a factor. Also, when it comes to LeBron majority of his career, he played in a slower pace era and the concept of “pace and score not being correlated as much” only is applicable to the last 4-5 years
The record can easily be broken because the pace has significantly increased in today's and future NBA and more players are scoring more points, in addition to the fact that better technology means that players can have longer careers and longer careers in their prime which means the record will be broken in the near future.
There is absolutely no way that this record will be *easily* broken. It’s like the home run record in baseball- to break Babe Ruth’s home run record you’d need to average almost 40 homers a season for 20 years straight. The amount of people who have hit 40 in a season on multiple occasions is small. That’s why Barry Bonds, the greatest hitter of all time, barely broke it. So no, LeBron’s scoring record will stand for a long time because there’s no one in the league today who will be able to beat it, and if it’s broken someday then it’s not going to be by much. Wilt’s ppg average, Wilt’s 100 point game, those have their days numbered for sure. 20+ years of 28 ppg? That’s gonn stand for a long time.
we don't know in the near future. currently the nba is obsessed with load management. I think the nba needs to get over that first and then after that how long will it take a for a player to comfortably play into 20+ seasons. lebron is the first so how long until its a normal thing. thats the question
@@KoreanBoy9713 It is not impossible there have been plenty of 30ppg scorers in NBA history and there will be more in the future. Also like I said also before better medical innovations will make players less prone to injuries and able to have longer careers. Last year five players averaged more than 27ppg and in the future more 30ppg scorers will exist. In addition, more players in the modern NBA play on the perimeter which makes them get injured less and have less fatigue. All these factors make the record pretty breakable within a few decades.
@@KoreanBoy9713 Keep in mind we are talking about the future. The average ppg every season is continuously increasing which will make 30ppg players way more common. I predict someone who is able to break or challenge Lebron's record to be a player like Steph Curry who is primarily a three point scorer. (Unfortunately Steph's career has been injury plagued so he's not in the running). A player like that can easily exist in the future, a three point specialist can get 30+ppg with less attempts while because he plays on the perimeter and receives less contact, he can have a longer, more durable player. Who's to say this record can't be broken?
Not taking away from LeBron’s achievement, but kinda insane that Kobe was scoring in 35 per game in a season of such slow pace. For those of you who never saw it, watching Kobe play LeBron was magical. It also shows how consistent LeBron has been that he played both Kobe and Giannis in their primes while still at pretty much MVP level.
What’s crazy to me is that people still don’t consider Bron a scorer. Just because he was labeled unclutch they force themselves to never see him as a scorer. He literally can’t do anything right in some peoples eyes.
GOAT James, just the crazy longevity and is still a all-star and MVP contender at 38 years old averaging 30pts in his 20th season plus the accomplishments he made just this season and the fact that he could retire with his crazy accomplishments and 44;000 points and 3rd or even 2nd in assist and top 7 or 6 in 3pt made have the nba acknowledge him as the 🐐 and king of the nba.
Whats more shocking than him breaking the record, is the people still downplaying lebron james as a whole. Comments section on youtube, IG, and FB are all basging lebron still, brining up championships won, and comparing him to MJ. Unbelievable
I'll pass Kareem's record if you give me LeBron's teammates, help from refs, throw traveling and offensive foul rules out the window, send me to the free throw line every time I smoke a shot, and be allowed to sit out whenever the f I want for a span of 25 years.
Wow... very well presented and undeniable truth. Kareem, even if we give him a 35% 3pt shot, would actually diminish his points, while Lebron had we made all his 3pts into 2, he'd still be scoring more pts per game. Haters will always hate.
So... LeBron IS just sticking around to pad stats and NOT IN FACT "competing for championships", as he suggests is "in his DNA"??? Hating on Malone for... trying to WIN??? Sadness.
Great video! I come from Basketball Time Machine's video downplaying as much as possible this milestone in Lebron's career. Old heads are really delusional. "jOrdDAn diD iT iN tHe pHysiCaL ErA". Ok, grandpa.
I think LeBron gets downplayed because a lot of people don't like him. Also because he's an athletic freak with a huge frame. People used to use the same argument against Shaq. Smaller guys are just more aesthetically pleasing scorers. Jordan and Kobe's game looked prettier, except for all Kobe's bricks. That begs the question: who is the best pound for pound scorer of all time?
