LED Light Strip In The Reflector - An Install On The 1979 Lincoln Continental

So you know that reflector light housing located on the rear of the 1979 Lincoln Continental? It's just dead space. My plan for sprucing it up was to install LED lights and wire it into the taillights.
The decision to do that has been a popular add-on to the custom features of "Claudine". Numerous times I have been asked about how I did it. Well, today on Skagg's Garage I'll show you how. I'm removing the old lights and trying out three light replacement options. Follow me to see how it's done and which option I choose.

I’ve got a ‘75 for sale, purrs like a kitten with the 460 in it @93k miles. 8-track works as well with the full skirts.

That’s pimpin’ buddy. I’ve got a ‘75 that’s mint original, 93k miles that I’ve been thinking about selling. I might keep it one more year and copy your upgrade. I’ve got curb feelers and boomerang antenna on trunk, kept the 8-track in dash with power everything. That’s neat though.

Much more defined appearance 👍 The neon look like on the Mark VIII is nice but goes better with that rounded organic shape. I know you love that naked top... No, the car, not you, but a white Landau top combined with the rare factory scenic roof would be eye-catching as well as classy. Especially with the wide whitewalls. I see your running out of tweaks... So, there you go. That full roof looks very nice from the inside also, less busy than the moonroof. PS Ford's associate, Silhouette, makes different stainless roofs and opera window eliminate kits...Nice from inside. No operas, a smaller back window and white Landau top with glass front roof might really rock that yacht 🤗

@@SkaggsGarage Yes, I know your tastes too! The 4 door has a chunkiness about it. It can look very solid and more massive without operas and that rear section made to stand out more with the Landau. The flowing and more round themed look is seen more in the Continental Mark III. There is a nice black one on YT with the naked top and widened wheels with rigid MT drag tires and added whitewalls. It shows that brute look very well. It also is running in the 9's now with graceful ease. If you ever see the Continental with that panoramic roof, you'll know the look... You just do a double take because you know it can't possibly be a moonroof and it blends in so beautifully with the Laundau. The pics look good, but when you see one on the street 👀 🍬

Agreed, just not enough space between the lenses and the and the black plastic housing that the lenses mount on... 🤷🏽

On my 77 Lincoln town coup I actually changed out the plastic grill for Rolls Royce grill vanes the real thing.behind the headlight doors are rectangular composite headlights.the pillows on the seats I removed the seat covers and replaced the foam with memory foam. I tucked the bumpers in and led interior lights.i need to know the length of that double row led strip for the tail light board to know what to order from China on epay. I will do the same thing to my 76 LTD coup. Neat idea.

I did, but decided to just leave it at this. I tend to over complicate, and would want separate LED circuit for turns so the park lights would stay on while the turn signal flash.... See, I just over complicated this answer 😆 ! Hey thanks for watching!
