I really like this. It's a much better representation of some important castle building technicques than many of the castle sets of the '80s and '90s. Note how each corner has a tower and how the towers all project from the walls.
Brian! Thanks for your reviews, man. I was originally getting tired of lego (mainly star wars sets). I saw your appreciation for the castle line and decided to get some of the newer Creator castle sets that just came out on Aug 1 and oh man, my love for lego has grown. Staying attached to one single theme/line can become sort of monotonous (same building techniques, same colors, same overall designs). Switching themes (City, Pirates, Castle, vehicles) shows different building techniques and color palettes that I haven't appreciated before. Basically, changing it up with lego is how you keep it fresh. You were part of this change of mind for me, bro. Thanks.
I think the architexture of this set is VERY cool. I think I will try to MOC a minifig castle with same features. Glad you are back, cant wait to see YOUR review of creator castle!
That castle is very cool. I give you much credit in your ability to build that without instructions. I think that castle is awesome and the colors don’t bother me at all. Like that the castle has several colors and is not primarily one color. I would put some minifigures on it even if they are out of scale.
