100 Ways to Weave deconstructs, reassembles, reimagines, and stretches the fundamental concept of a 3 beat weave to its very limits, searching systematically all the spaces in the body, all the lines and circles, and all the armpath combinations that are available for a pair of pendulum-like objects held by the hands to swing in a cyclical weaving pattern around the body.
The project is presented as a series of back to back clips of living kinetic sculptures shown with 3 cameras from 3 perspectives. I'm using a blue body suit and contrasting yellow sock poi in order for attention from viewers to focus without distractions on the motions of the poi and more importantly of the involvement of the whole body that makes each specific variation possible.

I cannot stress enough that most of the body motions presented use your body to its physical limits and so require 100% arm mobility, good flexibility, and a strong muscle tone specially shoulder and core support. Like any physical activity, poi swinging requires warming up and can often result in accidental or repetitive stress injuries if advanced motions are attempted without the necessary physical preparations.
I want to thank every poi spinner and prop manipulator that has shared their explorations and abilities online and has advanced in one way or another the worldwide collective knowledge of possible body interactions with objects, in particular the increasingly active tech poi international online community, whose members have in recent years vastly expanded the universe of poi possibilities.
